Nitro and I were very excited to see Alisha McGraw posted a photo on social media of her deaf dog Coco getting her AKC Canine Good Citizen Award.  You see, the night before I picked up Nitro from the shelter, I went to You Tube and watched Alisha’s ASL video for sign commands she uses on her deaf Boston Terrier dogs. I watched it over and over again and started signing with Nitro the minute he got home from the Salem Animal Shelter the following day. Nitro is amazing at understanding the sign commands now thanks to all the signs we learned from Alisha’s video.

When we launched our website Deaf Dogs Rock on August 1, 2011, I knew the first thing I wanted to feature was Alisha’s video under our section “You’ve Decided to Adopt a Deaf Dog –  Now What?” so that folks like me could learn simple sign commands for their deaf dogs by watching her great video. Alisha is also a very talented photographer.

Alisha, Nitro and I think you and Coco totally Rock and we are honored to have Coco part of our Deaf Dogs Rock AKC CGC Wall of Fame.
