The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy program is to set up each deaf puppy/dog for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they go into a experienced deaf dog foster home that is committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care. This way each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf dog, work with the deaf dog and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure to match the dog with the right home once the adoption screening process starts. The adoption screening process is very thorough. Each interested family must fill out an adoption application that asks lots of questions and a full list of references is required to be considered for adoption.

We work with shelters, rescues, private individual and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our program to make sure each deaf dog/puppy gets the individual training, socialization, and love to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and are here to help deaf dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.

When screening potential homes for a deaf dog/puppy, there are many guidelines to follow like checking all references, talking to the applicants veterinarian and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy is so important to set each deaf pup up for a successful happy life in their new home. Our Rocker Puppy program financially sponsors each deaf dog/puppy so the dogs can be spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescues and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf dog/puppy is spay/neutered before being placed in a new home.

It is our number one mission to make sure each deaf dog and puppy gets basic training, socialization. are in a loving and caring foster home where their confidence soars. Our partners set each deaf dog up for success. Jan – May 2019, Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored a total of 50 deaf dogs and puppies into have been sponsored into rescue so far this year.

In May 2019, our Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored 10 deaf dogs into the safe harbor of rescue so they can start on their new journey to finding their forever homes.

For the past five years Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored 575 deaf dogs/puppies (as of 5/31/19) into rescue and we could not have done it without the full support of our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community so thank you, thank you, thank you for the bottom of our hearts! ~ Christina Lee and the entire DDR team

 

 

Bexley, Ian and BeBe – Speak For The Unspoken – Ohio 

Our friends at Speak For The Unspoken have taken in so many special  needs dogs over the past four weeks, we wanted to help them with vet costs through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Program. Because of your support Bexley, Ian and Bebe can be vetted and get ready to find their forever homes.

9 week old Catahoula Puppy Matlin – Springfield MO – Rescue One Rescue –

 

When we saw a post about deaf Catahoula puppy Matlin we knew we had to help so we contacted Rescue One and offered to pay he Rocker Puppy sponsorship to help with her vetting so she can become available for adoption soon. What a pretty and sweet girl. A big shout out and thank you to Rescue One for taking in a special needs deaf Catahoula puppy. We are seeing so many deaf Catahoula puppies recently because many of the breeders are breeding a Merle to Merle gene which ends up with puppies having a 25% chance of being deaf or deaf/blind.

 

Whibbles Magoo – TN – Snooty Giggles Rescue

When we heard from Mary Jo Dilonardo about a deaf/blind Double Merle puppy named Whibbles Magoo she was going to foster for Snooty Giggles Dog Rescue we wanted to help out with a sponsorship. We sent in a Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsorship to help out with Whibbles vetting so he will be ready for adoption soon. Casper – Lake Charles Pit Bull Rescue 

You can certainly tell it is PUPPY SEASON! We were happy to help deaf girl Casper get the spay surgery she needs before she gets adopted. A big shout out and thank you to the Lake Charles Pit Bull Rescue for rescuing Casper and for advocating for her to find the perfect home. We look forward to following her journey. The more rescues we work with and sponsor deaf puppies like Casper, the more rescues will step forward to pull deaf puppies out of kill shelters or from owner surrenders.

Ella – Green Dogs Unleashed

 

Sometimes life throws a curve ball and the dog ends up paying for it. Ella is one of those dogs where her humans were getting a divorce and neither party could keep Ella so when her human daddy reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock we reached out to Green Dogs Unleashed to see if they could take a deaf boxer girl so she would not have to go to a shelter. Ella will be a recipient of Nitro’s Fund since she is a deaf boxer girl and we want to make sure she gets well taken care of.

 

Olive – Apollo Rescue and Support Texas 

Poor Olive. Unfortunately she did not make it but Apollo Rescue and Support stepped up and tried to help Olive in her time of need.

 

Kelly – Second Chance Dog Rescue – San Diego CA

Thanks to Second Chance Dog Rescue in San Diego CA sweet deaf/blind catahoula pup Kelly is in a safe place.
