Meet adoptable deaf 5 year old Wednesday who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish her, teach her new sign cues and always keep her safe.
Wednesday is a 5 year old, 50 pound pit bull mix who came to our shelter as a stray two years ago. She came covered in scars on her face and body, so we can only assume her previous situation was not a good one. She has been waiting in her kennel ever since that day and has had no interest from adopters in our small community. She is incredibly kennel stressed and jumps constantly all day in her kennel, wishing to get out, which also makes her a hard sale to potential adopters. Once out of her kennel, she is a completely different dog. She loves people and desires pets and attention! She loves to be outside and to play fetch.
She needs help with leash training and etiquette as she pulls and jumps when on leash. She is a fast learner, though, and is incredibly toy and treat driven! Wednesday needs to be in a home with NO cats or small dogs. Any dog in the household would have to be larger and submissive, as Wednesday can be very reactive to dogs.
If our staff thought Wednesday was a lost cause, we would have given up on her a long time ago. But, she is a staff favorite at our shelter and everyone just wants her to find a home that will love her and let her live out the rest of her life spoiled and taken care of, like she truly deserves.
