Update 8/09/17: Tonka has been adopted!
From Virginia: Tonka has finally found his furever home! Thank you for sharing him with the world (but selfishly we’re glad he’s staying local!) Tonka serves as an ambassador at Camp Bow Wow Shreveport, La, where he’s also a celebrity! Other pup parents enjoy watching him play with their kiddos & chase dragonflies on the camper cams. We couldn’t be happier for Tonka & his awesome new family.

Tonka is the sweetest little man in the world! He has such an amazing story of survival, as he was only moments away from being put down at animal control. Thankfully he was pulled by rescue, but it was soon discovered that he was heart-worm positive and deaf. In spite of the odds being stacked against him Tonka has never let that get him down. In just a few short months, he has been neutered, vaccinated and finished his treatment for those pesky heart-worms.
He is a happy-go-lucky petite bully mix (possibly American Bulldog/English Bulldog or AmStaff Terrier) and he’s about 16 months old so he is still a 100% puppy.
Tonka can be shy at first with new people but is extremely lovable and cuddly once he warms up.
