Meet adoptable deaf 3 year old Australian Shepherd Tequila who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish her and always keep her safe.

From her current caregiver: I adopted Tequila from a shelter where she had been found as a stray last fall and was instantly smitten. She’s a sweet, outgoing gorgeous girl who is eager to please. Unfortunately, my housing and financial situation changed unexpectedly the following spring and as much as I’ve tried to make it work, I don’t think I can provide her with the care she needs.

Infinitely smart and bursting with energy, Tequila is prone to some nosy and destructive impulses if left to her own devices. She’s also displayed some separation anxiety and some reactivity on the leash such as lunging and barking at cars, but not other dogs or people. In fact, she’s never met a stranger and is friendly towards other dogs if not a little guarded. She gets along okay with cats, but is prone to trying to herd or chase them if they run away from her.

Tequila would fit well with someone with an active lifestyle and has experience with high energy/herding mix dogs. She has potential to be an amazing companion and is incredibly biddable- I just can’t keep up. I hate to see her go and have loved having her as part of my family, but ultimately I want what’s best for her.

Knows cues for sit, lay down, stay, back up, paw, and has excellent recall when I can get her attention. Loads in and out of cars and crates easy breezy. Adores puzzles. UTD on shots, receives monthly heartworm and flea preventative- full medical history available.

Tequila’s adoption fee is $250 to a screened and approved home only and you must live within a couple of hours of Dayton Ohio to be considered for Tequila’s adoption. If you are interested, please email Fox at: gideon.f.brewer@gmail.com
