Sweet Tart is looking for her forever family with a loving family who will cherish her and always keep her safe.

Its a mystery of what her life was before she arrived at Dekalb County Animal Services , but what we know is she is DEAF, a perfect mixture of sweetness and sass, and wants nothing more than to be by your side. I had the honor of having her for 2 weeks while she recuperated from CIRD in my spare room. She isn’t a fan of the crate, which made it so hard to return her to the shelter!! She loved just having a warm bed and a bone.

I’m not sure if her original owner knew she couldn’t hear, but this girl has A LOT she is trying to express! While with me, she daily walked our city center (looking for a Beltline doggie?), rode in the car like a champ (learned the “lay down” sign for treats) and showed me that she is interested in doggie friends, curious/non reactive with kids, and a little “too excited” with outdoor kitties.

Sweet Tart is just shy of 2 years old, around 45lbs, and soft as velvet.
She loves nothing more than to sit beside you with a toy and chill. She comes with a commitment from a trainer for a 4 week board and train to polish her skills as an incredible companion, and to help integrate into your family dynamic. Her forever home would be best with no small kids, as she is still learning to navigate our hearing world with her very quiet one.

Please reach out if you are interested in adopting this sweet love she is at the shelter and needs a 2nd chance!

This shelter along with LifeLine provides a complete medical examination, including spay/neuter, vaccination, canine heartworm or feline combo testing and a microchip, for every dog and cat before adoption. This is a great value for adopters and ensures that adopted animals do not contribute to the number of unwanted pets in our community.

The Dekalb County Animal Services is located at 3280 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd, Chamblee GA 30341
