Meet adoptable deaf/blind 9 month old Australian Shepherd Stevie who is looking for a very special home with someone who will make daily positive reinforcement touch training/socialization/enrichment a priority and always keep him safe. Stevie would love to have a secure fenced in yard where he can explore, map out and stay safe.

From the shelter: Stevie is a lovable Aussie mix with a BIG personality and plenty of energy to share! This sweet boy doesn’t let anything slow him down. We believe Stevie is both blind and deaf, but that certainly hasn’t stopped him from enjoying life to the fullest! He still loves to play, soak up cuddles, and make friends with other dogs.

Stevie is looking for a special family who understands that he may experience the world a little differently. He’ll need patient, understanding adopters who are willing to learn how to communicate with him, help him navigate his surroundings safely, and give him the structure he needs to thrive.

One thing is for sure: Stevie has so much love to give, and his sensory impairments don’t take away from his playful spirit or his desire to connect with the people and pups around him!

If you’re ready for a fun-loving companion with a whole lot of heart, Stevie might just be your perfect match. He may experience the world differently, but he’s ready to fill yours with plenty of love and adventure!

If you are interested in adopting Stevie and live close enough to set up a meet and greet in person, the first step is to request a blank adoption application to fill out by emailing: adoptions@sftsrescue.org
