From her rescue advocate: Sissy is a charming, one-of-a-kind 7–10-year-old female Chihuahua mix weighing just 12 lbs, and she truly marches to the beat of her own drum. With her all-white coat, striking blue eyes, extra-long legs, adorably tiny head, and almost no neck to speak of, Sissy is a little dog with a big presence. She’s a sight to behold—and an even bigger joy to know.
Sissy is deaf with a slight vision impairment, but she’s learned hand gestures for come and no and gets around just fine in a calm, predictable environment. Because she startles easily and has some difficulty seeing in low light (and a mild fear of the dark), she appreciates a home that keeps things peaceful and turns on a yard light for nighttime potty trips.
This quirky lady has a very cat-like personality. She’s perfectly content lounging quietly on the couch… until she suddenly zooms across the room for no apparent reason. Her hilarious “kibble dance”—rolling pieces around and pouncing like they might escape—will absolutely keep you smiling.
Sissy is potty trained and crate trained, has a low energy level, and enjoys leisurely walks or exploring a fenced yard, followed by plenty of relaxation time. She is dog-selective and would prefer to be the only pet. Cats are unlikely to be a good match, and she would do best in a home with older children or adults only.
Above all, Sissy loves being near her person—sitting by your side, soaking up companionship, and quietly being her wonderfully weird self. She’s looking for an adopter who appreciates her unique personality and can offer the stable, loving home she’s been waiting for. Sissy is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines/prevention.
