Meet adoptable deaf eight year old Shay who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherisher her and always keep her safe. She is available for foster to adopt.
From her shelter advocate: Shay is an absolutely beautiful 8-year-old white Bully mix who has been waiting far too long for her forever family. This sweet girl came to us as a transfer from a county shelter after being found as a stray, and she quickly became a staff favorite.
Although Shay is a senior, someone forgot to tell her! She is full of energy, loves to stay active, and has plenty of life and love to share. She enjoys spending time with her people and especially loves cuddle time, attention, and simply being by your side.
Shay also does wonderfully with other dogs. She participates in playgroup and is described as a gentle dainty player. She would make a wonderful family companion, particularly for a family with older children who can appreciate her playful, energetic personality.
Shay recently completed heartworm treatment on 8/14/26 and will be off exercise restrictions 9/25/26. She does have some ongoing medical needs, including allergies that are managed with medication, a hypoallergenic diet, and regular baths. She also has dry eye that is currently managed with over-the-counter eye drops and will likely require for the remainder of her life.
Don’t let her age, medical needs, or deafness overshadow everything wonderful about Shay. She is sweet, affectionate, playful, dog-friendly, and happiest with her people. She has so much love to give and is simply waiting for someone to give her a chance.
After spending so much time waiting, Shay deserves to finally know what it feels like to be someone’s girl.
