Meet adoptable deaf one year old Seamus who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will make daily positive reinforcement training/socialization/enrichment a priority and always keep him safe.

From his rescue advocate: Seamus is a beautiful 11 month old Heeler/Husky mix who has had less than an ideal start to life. He found himself in a shelter as a puppy and he was adopted by a family the shelter was hoping it would be his forever family, but sadly the puppy novelty wore off and the adoptive family returned him to the shelter.

We can only guess what his life was like before he came to the shelter. Seamus is initially very shy with new people but he does warm up after he gets to know you. He is fully deaf and he has partial vision impairment but it does not seem to affect him in any way. He does best with people who can go slow with introductions and let him meet them at his comfort level. Seamus is a very active pup and he loves to chase his ball. He also enjoys the company of other dogs and he would benefit from a home with another dog friendly dog which would help with his confidence building and as a new playmate for him (it is not a requirement to have another dog in the home).  Since Seamus is initially shy and sometimes he can startle easily, a home without young kids is preferred for him.
