Meet adoptable deaf dog Sandor who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him, not give up on him and always keep him safe.

From his shelter advocate: Sandor comes from a complicated history, and has already had a few owners in just 3 short years. From conversations with Sandor’s original owner, he was the largest of his litter (which is believable considering his size today!), and is completely deaf. He has gotten along with his former litter mate during a recent meet-up, but struggles with other dogs in the shelter due to the stressful environment.

Sandor does not always get along with the other large male dogs through the kennel (barrier reactive), but does okay outside with more space and a fence in between. Due to his size, we believe that Sandor should not go to a home with small children, however he has been good with staff while in our care, so older kids (teens) and adults are fine. Someone that can read his body language, so that he does not get scared. Sandor really needs a chance with a family who is willing to learn about interacting with deaf dogs, and who is willing to train. We believe Sandor can be a really good boy if given the right opportunity.
