Meet adoptable 10 year old deaf dog Remy who is looking for a loving forever home where she can be the only pet.

From her foster: Our foster pup, Remy is looking for her forever home.  Could it be with you?

Remy is a really special dog. We are fostering her for BARCS, the animal shelter in Baltimore City. Since learning she’s deaf, we’ve taught her a few hand commands. Now she knows how to sit, lay down, back up, and stay. She’s loves to go for long walks and likes to play in our yard, rolling around to her heart’s content.

I say Remy is special because she although she loves physical activity, she’s also really easy-going and laidback. She’s house-trained, likes to snuggle up on her dog bed for a long nap, and will literally just lay on the floor next to you while you work, make dinner, or watch TV, she just wants to be by your side. Her favorite toy is her Kong (with some peanut butter of course) and she really loves keeping the squirrels away!

Remy needs to be the only dog in your home, that’s when she’s most comfortable. She is also a little too excited about cats, but with a slow acclimation and confident cat, things may work. She’s adorably short and weighs approximately 54lbs.

Remy was surrendered to BARCS because her family could no longer keep her and unfortunately because of breed specific housing restrictions, her first adoption didn’t work out. We’re eager to find her the right fit, so please reach out for information on the adoption process (an application, a meet & greet, an adoption class, and lastly picking her up!) and we’ll get back to you!
