Meet adoptable one year old deaf border collie Quill who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him, continue his training and always keep him safe.

Hello there,
This is Quill. He is 1 year old deaf, extreme piebald border collie.

We rescued Quill from an unfortunate situation where he was being neglected and abused with the intent of returning him to his previous owner he was taken from. His previous owner relinquished him to us. Unfortunately he is not getting the love and attention he deserves as I’m juggling my studies among other things. I’m happy that we have gotten him as far as we did in his life, and provided him with the love and care that we have, but I want him to have his own -person-, that isn’t shrouded in school and able to love and provide for him more than what I can.

I have dedicated a lot of time working with quill in training and otherwise.
He knows several hand signs: sit, stay, wait, down, sit up, leave it, come. He also knows how to recall with the vibrate of an ecollar. We were working on sharpening his obedience and have been to classes. He is a very bright, high energy boy. He would probably do better in a house with other collies and high energy breeds to keep up. Ideally I would prefer he be in a home where he is the ONLY dog and he can be given attention 1 on 1. He needs lots of room to run, play, and an active human to call his own! He can be sometimes skiddish, and stubborn. He also LOVES to chew. That aside, he is an all around lovely dog that loves to cuddle and be around you. He walks lovely on the leash, but can get a bit excitable when he sees other people or dogs!

He is okay with cats. He gets a bit overly fixated on them and small animals. Probably best to avoid though.

He is up to date on shots and preventative.

He is neutered.

What he needs summarized:
– preferably a home where HE is the only dog.
– an owner experienced in his breed and their energy needs.
– someone experienced in training impaired dogs.
-I will ignore anyone who contacts me just because they think he is cute.. he is cute I agree, but he has needs. He is a dog for experienced owners.

There is a rehoming fee of $100. You will get all of his belongings as well and vet records.
