Our Deaf Dogs Rock team was so excited to hear one of our Rocker Puppy Program recipients Doobert will be participating in this year’s Puppy Bowl hosted by Animal Planet and sponsored by Pedigree. Last September Deaf Dogs Rock was contacted by a breeder to help a little deaf English Setter puppy into rescue so we offered to sponsor the puppy through our Rocker Puppy Program. We immediately reached out to Green Dogs Unleashed Rescue here in Virginia to see if they had room for the deaf puppy. After contacting Erika with Green Dogs Unleashed, she confirmed she had room at G.D.U. for the puppy.
Erika set up the transport using the Doobert.com rescue/transport platform. Because the puppy wasn’t given a name by the breeder, the volunteer drivers who were transporting the deaf pup assumed his name was Doobert because Doobert was on the transport run sheets. A simple case of mistaken identity led to the deaf puppy’s new name becoming Doobert. Once the deaf puppy arrived at Green Dogs Unleashed, Deaf Dogs Rock sent in Doobert’s Rocker Puppy sponsorship funds to pay for his vetting. A few weeks later, Erika contacted us here at D.D.R. and confirmed Doobert would be playing in this year’s Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. On February 5th, Animal Planet will be airing its annual Puppy Bowl with a special twist. This year players will include special-needs dogs including deaf puppy“Doobert”, who was transported to his forever home using the Doobert.com unique rescue platform.

The puppy, was named “Doobert” by the Doobert.com volunteers, because the breeder did not give him the dog a name due to his deafness. Thanks to Transport4Rescues, Deaf Dogs Rock, and Green Dogs Unleashed, “Doobert” the dog got a new chance at life with a forever home in Virginia.
