Meet adoptable deaf Pongo who is a 9.5  year old neutered deaf Dalmatian looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him, become his new best friend and always keep him safe.

From his advocate: Pongo is a very good boy, excellent with men, women and children. Due to his deafness children should understand not to startle him when sleeping. He has never acting out in any negative way but to know to respect his sleeping space would be appreciated. A fenced in yard is a must due to his deafness as well as always being on a leash at all times when not in a fenced yard. He knows multiple hand signals which I will review with whomever expresses interest. He has been to daycare and does like other dogs. He has lived with small animals such as bunnies but no cats. He had a female pointer as a companion as well and our foster home has multiple dogs that he does very well with. I think he would be fine with a cat but I have no history to report about sharing a home with a cat. When he was 5 years old he underwent a bladder stone surgery which is very common with the male Dalmatian. He is on a medication that is given once a day for the rest of his life. It is inexpensive however it will be necessary for his new person to make sure he gets  his medication daily. He is on a special diet as well. If you express interest in him I can review your information. You must live within driving distance to West Springfield MA to be considered for adoption so you can meet Pongo in person.

If you think Pongo would be a good match for your life style please reach out so we can go over our adoption process. Email Kim at kbdalgal@yahoo.com
