Meet adoptable deaf one year old bully mix Orie who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him, make daily positive reinforcement training/enrichment a priority and always keep him safe.
From his shelter advocate: Orie is a sweet, energetic pup with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging. Suspected to be deaf or hard of hearing, Orie doesn’t let that slow him down—he bounces through life with joyful enthusiasm and a big smile for everyone he meets.
Orie is eager for attention and gets excited to go out, sometimes needing a little help with leash-up. Once outside, he quickly settles into his surroundings. He’s social with people, welcomes pets, and is gentle when taking treats. Orie has shown signs of being house-trained and is learning new cues with the help of hand signals and lots of encouragement.
In the yard, Orie loves to run, sniff, and play with toys—especially rope toys, which are great for redirecting his puppy-like mouthing when he gets overstimulated. When given a toy to focus on, he happily zooms off to play and returns calm and relaxed, often sitting quietly beside his handlers for affection.
Orie enjoys the company of other dogs and has a playful, bowing greeting style. He can get riled up easily, so he’ll benefit from structure, positive reinforcement, and a home that understands his unique communication needs. Toys, treats, and patience go a long way with this guy!
Please help Orie find a safe exit from his current residence at ACCT Philly.
