As of last month (September 30, 2017), our Deaf Dogs Rock community has sponsored 121 deaf dogs into the safe harbors of rescue where they can go into foster care, start their ASL sign training, potty training, positive reinforcement training, and socialization so each deaf puppy will be set up for success in the future. While in foster care and going through their basic deaf dog training, potential adoptive families will be thoroughly screened by professional adoption coordinators to make sure they match the deaf dog up with a family who will best fit the dog. Our mission here at DDR is to get each deaf rescue dog/puppy to a place where they can learn, go through basic training, feel how it is to live in a home with a family, which in the long run will help the rescue match potential loving families so the dog has a better chance at success and a happy life.

We still need your help. If you would like to help us to continue to help deaf shelter dogs to rescue please click here to learn more.

In October 2017, our DDR community stepped up and sponsored another 9 deaf dogs into wonderful partner rescues. The rescues we work with will make sure each deaf dog/puppy goes into an experienced deaf dog foster home, starts ASL sign training using positive reinforcement training methods, will socialize each dog and let the dog decompress so the dog’s personality starts to shine. After each dog is settled, started training, the rescues will get the deaf dog fully vetted to get prepared to put the deaf dog up for adoption. Once each dog becomes available for adoption, all potential adoption applications will be thoroughly screened to make sure the dog is set up for success.

Add the 9 deaf dogs sponsored in October 2017, and brings our grand total to 130 deaf dogs sponsored into rescue so far this year. We could not do what we do here at Deaf Dogs Rock without the generous support of our Deaf Dogs Rock Community so thank you so much for all your support.  I also want to thank each and every partner rescue we work with. These rescues go the extra mile when it comes to rescuing, fostering, training, and networking deaf dogs in their care.

Without our rescue partners we would have no where else to turn.

Thanks for all your help! ~ Christina Lee – Deaf Dogs Rock

October 2017 Rocker Puppy Deaf Dog Rescue Sponsorships

Larry

We offered a $200 rescue sponsorship for deaf dog Larry to get him out of the Franklin County Animal Control. We had one of our wonderful Deaf Dogs Rock community members Merrie offer another $200 to double Larry’s rescue sponsorship and it worked. Thanks to Deacon’s Hope Rescue in Ohio Larry will be going into rescue where hopefully he can decompress before being available for adoption.

Misa

Misa has been rushed into emergency surgery to hopefully remove a blockage. She has not eaten in some time and has become ill. Red Hook Rescue is pulling her and it is reported she does have an interested family in adopting her once she has been deemed healthy enough for adoption (after her surgery).

Duke

Thanks to iRescue for pulling Duke out of the Harris Co. Animal Control and getting him into foster until he could be picked up and transported to Killeen TX where he will be safely in foster care and start his sign training and socialization.

Blue

Sponsored Blue so he could have neuter surgery done at Angels of Assisi Rescue here in Roanoke VA.

Surri

Thanks to Angels pf Assisi Rescue for excepting some of the dogs from hurricane ravaged area of Puerto Rico. Deaf Dog Surri is now safely here in Roanoke VA. I got the pleasure of taking her for a long walk today. She is a total sweet  heart. Deaf Dogs Rock donated her sponsorship to Angels so she will be well cared for and in the mean time she is available for adoption. You can read more about her by clicking here.

Snoopy

We are so thankful for Adore A Bullie Paws & Cause Rescue for taking in deaf dog Snoopy. According to our deaf dogs Nitro, Bud, Cornell and Bowie, your team totally Rocks. Snoopy got a Rocker Puppy Sponsorship so he can be neutered and get ready for adoption.

Darla

Thanks to Best Friend Pet Adoption Rescue for pulling Darla and getting her safely into rescue. We appreciate your efforts to get this sweet girl out of the shelter and into the safe harbor of your rescue.

Kylo

A big shout out and thanks to Green Dogs Unleashed for pulling deaf/blind puppy Kylo from a rural kill shelter. Also a big thanks to Katie and Derek Karnes fostering Kylo. This will be third or fourth deaf foster dog (they fostered our deaf dog Cornell who we adopted in July of this year).

Picasso

Thanks to Poet’s Vision Rescue in Perth Ontario for rescuing Picasso. He came into the rescue in pretty rough shape and he was rushed to the emergency vet to save his life. Because of the support of our community we were able to send Poet’s Vision a Rocker Puppy Sponsorship to help pay for his vetting.
