Thank you to all of our supporters who donated to Deaf Dogs Rock in the month of October 2020 to keep our mission going! The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy program is to set up each deaf puppy/dog for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they go into a experienced deaf dog foster homes who are committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care. This way each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf dog, work with the deaf dog, and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure the organization makes a great match for each deaf dog with the right home once the adoption screening process starts.

Deaf Dogs Rock works with shelters, rescues, private individual and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our Rocker Puppy program and into rescue. By doing so, each deaf pup gets the individual training, socialization, and love to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and our number one priority will always be to help deaf dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.

When screening potential homes for a deaf dog/puppy, each partner rescue has a specific set of guidelines to follow like checking all references, talking to the applicant’s veterinarian and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy is so important to set each deaf pup up for a successful happy life in their new home. Our Rocker Puppy program financially sponsors each deaf dogs/puppies so the dogs can be vaccinated and spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescue partners and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf pup is spay/neutered before being placed in a new home.

Even though donations slowed way down in the Spring, due to the Coronavirus, that did not stop us from continuing to sponsor deaf dogs in need throughout the summer months. Our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored 20 deaf dogs/puppies in October, 2020 which is a huge accomplishment considering we are in the middle of a Pandemic. Thanks to the financial support of our loyal Deaf Dogs Rock community, we can continue to help deaf dogs in need. So far since our start of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsorship program we have sponsored 830 deaf dogs (as of 10/31/20) into rescue.

This year of 2020, our Deaf Dogs Rock community has sponsored 162 deaf dogs/pups into the safe arms of rescue. We could not do it without your on going support! This is a record year for sponsoring deaf dogs.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! ~ Christina Lee

Deaf Puppy –  Angels of Assisi Rescue – Roanoke VA

Thanks to the kindness of Christine and her family for saving this little one stuck in a back yard on a chain with little food or water. They saved this 5 month old Catahoula bulldog from some bad conditions, took her to the vet and reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock for help. We contacted our friends over at Angels of Assisi Rescue to see if they could make room for this sweet girl so she wouldn’t end up in a kill shelter and they welcomed her with open arms.

Frankie – Green Dogs Unleashed

When Frankie’s owners in Kansas reached out to us for help for sweet 5 year old Frankie, we knew we had to get him here to Virginia into Green Dogs Unleashed. He is a wonderful 5 year old boxer who grew up with a two year old but when the second baby girl was born, she was highly allergic to Frankie. Frankie’s owners were kind enough to reach out to Deaf Dogs Rock and get Frankie fully vetted for his rescue transport to Virginia.

**Frankie will be sponsored by our Nitro’s Fund in honor of our deaf boxer Nitro who passed away of Cancer two years ago. If you are a boxer lover and want to help sponsor the next deaf boxer into rescue you can donate and learn more about Nitro’s Fund here.

Frankie was perfect gentleman in his 2 day transport with 16 transport legs and an overnight stay in Louisville KY. Thank you Betsey for having Frankie over for a sleepover half way through his transport. Frankie is in foster to adopt with his new person.

******Thanks to our friends Patricia and Vern Kerst for working so hard raising money so we can help deaf dogs like Frankie. Thanks to them, Frankie’s sponsorship  has been donated by this wonderful couple. Kiwi settling in at her new foster home with Finn

Sweet Rumor came into Green Dogs Unleashed at only 20 pounds and very shy. They were not sure if she was deaf or just so scared it seemed like she was deaf. She is being fostered by deaf dog extraordinaire frisbee competitor Finn who will help her find her confidence again. Erika did mention when she sleeps she does not wake when humans walk into the room which is a sure sign of deafness. Rumor will be sponsored into rescue by our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy program where she will get the much needed vetting and high quality food to bring her back on the road to recovery.

Ranger – Deaf Dog Rescue of America

Little Ranger was rescued by the Deaf Dog Rescue of America. Isn’t he so handsome? Ranger will be sponsored by our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy program to help the rescue with his vetting costs so he can be ready for adoption. Heelers are a very popular breed and I am sure Lisa with the Deaf Dog Rescue of America will get a lot of interest in this cute boy! William, Harry, Emily and Charlotte – DC Dogos Rescue

Our friends at DC Dogos Rescue contacted us for help and all four deaf pups will be recipients of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Sponsorship program so our community can help DC Dogos with their vetting expenses. The sooner they see a vet they can go into foster care, start learning their sign cues, get crate trained, house trained and work on socialization to give them a strong foundation to build on once they go into their new homes.

Midland Texas Shelter – Deaf Male Lab mix

We put out a rescue sponsorship plea for this sweet deaf boy in Midland Texas shelter to see if a rescue would step up for him. Thanks to our supporters this little boy will get the help he needs and will be sponsored into rescue.

Dog Food Donation to Angels of Assis for helping deaf dog Patti Smith

We want to thank Angels of Assisi for helping deaf dog Patti and deaf dog Dozer so when we learned they were low on the Purina Pro Plan Focus to help the shelter pups with sensitive stomachs we wanted to help. We ran by the Tractor Supply and purchased food for the shelter pups.

Sammy, Marlee and Luna – Happy Tails Rescue – Oklahoma

When someone reached out to us for help from Texas we reached out to our partner rescue Happy Tails Rescue Society in Oklahoma to see if they had room for Sammy.
