Thank you to all of our supporters who donated to Deaf Dogs Rock in the month of October to keep our mission going! Our Deaf Dogs Rock community has sponsored 15 deaf dogs into rescue in October 2022. What a great accomplishment in a struggling economy.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for continuing to support our mission to save one deaf dog at a time. We also want to give a huge shout out and THANK YOU to every single person and company who donated to this year in 2022, so we can continue to sponsor deaf dogs and puppies into rescue.
It takes a tribe of animal lovers to support Deaf Dogs Rock to continue to carry out our mission. Deaf Dogs Rock spent between $5000 and $7000.00 each month on Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorships! If you would like to help sponsor a deaf dog out of a kill shelter into the safe arms of rescue, please click here to Donate.
The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship program is to set up each deaf puppy/deaf dog for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they go into a experienced deaf dog foster homes who are committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care. This way, each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf pup for awhile, work with the deaf dog, and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure the organization makes the very best match for each deaf dog with the right home once the adoption screening process starts.
Deaf Dogs Rock works with shelters, rescues, private individuals, and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship program and into rescue. By doing so, each deaf pup gets the individual training, vetting, socialization, and TLC to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and our number one priority will always be to help deaf dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.
When our rescue partners screen potential new homes for a deaf dog/puppy, each rescue has a specific set of guidelines to follow when considering a new home for example; like checking all references, talking to the applicant’s veterinarian, and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program is so important to set up each deaf pup for a successful happy life in their new home by helping each rescue with vetting expenses so each puppy ends up in a rescue that specifically advocates for them. Our Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship program financially sponsors deaf dogs/puppies so each pup can be vaccinated and spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescue partners and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf pup is spay/neutered be before being placed in a new home (unless they are Great Danes or Dalmatians).
Our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored 15 deaf dogs/pups in October 2022 which is a huge accomplishment in a recession. So far in this year our DDR community has sponsored 203 deaf pups into rescue.
Thanks to the financial support of our loyal Deaf Dogs Rock community, D.D.R. can continue to help deaf dogs in need. So far since our start of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program, our community has sponsored 1299 deaf dogs and pups into rescue (as of 10/31/22).
Below are the recaps of each deaf puppy we sponsored into a partner rescue in the month of October 2022
Norman – Scrufflands Rescue – Texas
We are so happy to report that deaf dog Norman is out of the shelter in Weatherford and has gone to rescue and is in foster care through Scrufflands Animal Rescue in Fort Worth Texas. Deaf Dogs Rock had put up a rescue plea and added a $200 rescue sponsorship for Norman and we were so happy to hear from Scrufflands that they had pulled Norman from the Weatherford shelter. Norman is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program to help the rescue with his vetting.
Skye – Howlin Woof Society
We put up a rescue plea and a DDR sponsorship offer to a reputable foster based 501c3 rescue to pull Skye, get him into foster care, get him neutered and match him with a loving forever home. We were so happy to hear Skye was pulled by Hoolin Woof Society so he is now in foster care. Skye is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Sponsorship program to help with his neuter surgery.

Winifred was dumped at a shelter by a puppy mill breeder when they discovered she is deaf. She is an adorable Cavalier/Poodle mix who is about 12 weeks old. Both Dancer and Winifred will be recipients of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Sponsorship Program to help with their vetting costs so the rescue can continue to save deaf and deaf blind dogs in the future.
Winston and Elizabeth – Green Dogs Unleashed Rescue – Virginia
When a family contacted us about their young deaf boston terrier who had major OCD behaviors we reached out to Green Dogs Unleashed to see if they had room in their program for deaf boston Winston. We were so happy when he arrived at their rescue. Winston is staying with Erika and her family while he goes thorough intense training and socialization. He will be sponsored into rescue by our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship program to help with his care and vetting.
Elizabeth
Sweet deaf/blind poodle mix Elizabeth is now safely in Green Dogs Unleashed where she will get some touch training, learn new things, get all her vetting completed and be sponsored into rescue through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program.
Dixie – Pink Heart Rescue
When we heard about sweet deaf boxer Dixie having some trouble finding a safe place to land, we reached out to our friends at Pink Heart Rescue to see if they would take a 7 month old deaf boxer girl from Virginia so she wouldn’t end up in the wrong hands. Thanks to Alyx and her team and Erika with Green Dogs Unleashed, they worked together to make sure Dixie could get to Indianapolis from Virginia. Often it takes a tribe of rescue warriors to make things happen faster than normal to save a life of a deaf dog and in this case all of them are considered Dixie’s heroes. Dixie is sponsored into rescue through Nitro’s Fund which was set up specifically to sponsor deaf boxer pups like our deaf boxers Nitro and Bud to ensure they have a chance at a loving and safe life ahead of them.
Luis – Speak For The Unspoken – Ohio
Sweet deaf puppy Luis is an Aussie Poodle mix who is a reject from a puppy mill because of his deafness. Our friends at Speak For The Unspoken have taken in Luis and he is now in foster care learning new signs. He is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsorship fund to help Speak with his vetting to get him ready for adoption.
Blair – Pink Heart Rescue
Thanks to our friends at Pink Heart Rescue (and the volunteer transport drivers), Blair is now safe. She will be sponsored into rescue by our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship Fund to help with her vetting costs.
Greta – Green Dogs Unleashed
Sweet senior deaf Pug Greta was found as a stray and no one came to claim her (which we can’t even fathom) so our friends at Green Dogs Unleashed took her in and she is now settling into her new foster home with Amanda. She has some issues in her mobility in her back end so Deaf Dogs Rock will sponsor some of her medical through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship fund. Isn’t she an absolute doll baby?
Ethel and Frosty – White Diamond Double Merle Rescue

Thanks to our friends at the White Diamond Double Merle Dane Rescue these two deaf pups Ethel and Frosty are safe and getting the vetting care they need. Both of the puppies will be sponsored into rescue through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship Program. Thanks to one of our donors Angie G. who had applied for a matching grant through her employer so with her help, we were able to sponsor another 7 deaf dogs into rescue in the month of October.
Storm – Aussie Rescue Networking Group – Santa Barbara
After Deaf Dogs Rock shared a rescue plea with sponsorship from our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program, we heard from Aussie Rescue Networking Group of Santa Barbara who pulled storm into rescue. We are so happy for deaf dog Storm and his buddy Diego who were pulled together. Storm will get help with his vetting because of the kindness and generosity of our DDR community. Thanks to the Aussie Rescue Networking Group of Santa Barbara for pulling Storm and her buddy Diego.
DJ – Happy Tails Rescue – Oklahoma
When a person in Oklahoma reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock because they had a deaf puppy who needed help, we reached out to our partner rescue Happy Tails Rescue of OK to see if they could make room for DJ. All of our partner rescues are bursting at the seams and I knew it would be a tough time to try to get one more deaf puppy into rescue but we had to try. Our friend Moria Turner the director of Happy Tails jumped right in and contacted the owner. Moria also put together a transport team to get deaf puppy DJ from another location in OK to her location in Edmond OK. Thanks to Moria and her volunteer transport drivers for helping DJ get to safety.
DJ will be sponsored into rescue by our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship fund to help with his vetting. Here at Deaf Dogs Rock when we send a deaf and deaf/blind puppy to a special needs rescue we don’t just the puppies their way but we stand behind the favors we ask with a financial donation to help each rescue with the puppy’s vetting to get each pup ready for adoption. Thanks to our amazing and generous supporters who continue to donate to help deaf puppies like DJ here.
