Thank you to all of our supporters who donated to Deaf Dogs Rock in the month of November 2020 to keep our mission going! The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsorship program is to set up each deaf puppy/dog for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they go into a experienced deaf dog foster homes who are committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care. This way each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf dog, work with the deaf dog, and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure the organization makes a great match for each deaf dog with the right home once the adoption screening process starts.

Deaf Dogs Rock works with shelters, rescues, private individual and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our Rocker Puppy sponsorship program and into rescue. By doing so, each deaf pup gets the individual training, socialization, and love to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and our number one priority will always be to help deaf dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.

When screening potential homes for a deaf dog/puppy, each partner rescue has a specific set of guidelines to follow like checking all references, talking to the applicant’s veterinarian and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy is so important to set each deaf pup up for a successful happy life in their new home. Our Rocker Puppy sponsorship program financially sponsors each deaf dogs/puppies so the dogs can be vaccinated and spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescue partners and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf pup is spay/neutered before being placed in a new home. If you would like to donate to our Rocker Puppy sponsorship program, please click here.

Our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored 20 deaf dogs/puppies in November, 2020 which is a huge accomplishment considering we are in the middle of a Pandemic. Thanks to the financial support of our loyal Deaf Dogs Rock community, we can continue to help deaf dogs in need. So far since our start of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsorship program we have sponsored 850 deaf dogs (as of 11/30/20) into rescue.

This year of 2020, our Deaf Dogs Rock community has sponsored 182 deaf dogs/pups into the safe arms of rescue. We could not do it without your on going support! This is a record year for sponsoring deaf dogs.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! ~ Christina Lee

Our November 2020 Rocker Puppy Sponsorship Monthly Recaps are below.

Dawson – Amazing Aussies Lethal White Rescue of Arizona

Sweet 8 week old Dawson will be sponsored into Amazing Aussies Lethal White Rescue of Arizona. Sweet Dawson’s mom abandon him at 3 weeks after he was the only pup born.

Bella – Mutt Paws Rescue

Thanks to Mutty Paws Rescue who pulled deaf dog Bella to safety after she got into an altercation with another resident dog and ended up at Animal Control. Deaf Dogs Rock put up a $200 rescue sponsorship plea for a rescue to step up for Bella. Even though Mutty Paws Rescue was on intake hold because of an family emergency in their organization they decided since Bella was local they would make an exception an pull her out of Palm Beach County Animal Control.

Suzie and Sadie – Deaf Dogs of Oregon Rescue

When Anne from Oregon reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock for help because she had 2 deaf Border Collie pups who were born deaf, we reached out to Deaf Dogs of Oregon to see if they had room for sweet deaf pups Suzie and Sadie. They got back to us and put a transport team together to meet Anne and pick up the pups. Anne was also kind enough to donate to Deaf Dogs Rock Suzie and Sadie’s full rescue sponsorship and we appreciate her supporting our mission to sponsor deaf pups into special needs rescues where they can go into experienced foster homes, get their foundation training done (potty training, crate training and socialization around other animals and children) so that when they have been fully evaluated, vetted they will be matched with a loving home with someone who is committed to continuing their positive reinforcement training/socialization to help each deaf puppy be the best they can be.

Aussie Pup Tamaya Rose from New Mexico – Amazing Lethal White Aussies of Arizona Rescue

When we learned about a deaf Aussie puppy in New Mexico running around on an active Ranch we reached out to the Aussie’s owner and Amazing Lethal White Aussie of Arizona to see if we could get the pup into our DDR Rocker Puppy Program and sponsor her into rescue. We were so happy when the rancher agreed to let the puppy go to ALWAA. ALWAA also had a foster in New Mexico who could go pick up the puppy.

Eldon – K-9 Freekz (Kearney Foundation)

Deaf Dogs Rock put out a rescue plea for sweet deaf puppy Eldon and we were so happy to hear from K-9 Freekz Rescue in Nebraska who went and got Eldon and placed him into a loving foster home. K-9 Freekz is part of the Kearny Area Community Foundation.

Bourbon – Speak For The Unspoken

We heard from our friends at Speak For The Unspoken who took in a sweet 4 month old deaf puppy Bourbon and we wanted to help them by sponsoring Bourbon through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Program which will help with her spay surgery.

Isla – Poet’s Vision Aussie Rescue – Perth Ontario

When we heard from our friend Tanya with Poet’s Vision Aussie Rescue in Perth Ontario telling us about a unilaterally deaf, vision impaired puppy with neurological issues we wanted to help out. Sweet Isla will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Sponsorship so she can have some of her vetting expenses taken care of. We appreciate Tanya so much for looking out for this special little girl and we also appreciate the support we get from our wonderful Deaf Dogs Rock community who continue to support us helping one deaf dog at a time.

Roxy and Tiger – Deaf Dogs Rescue of America

Deaf Dogs Rock reached out to Lisa Tipton with the Deaf Dog Rescue of America to see if she had room for Roxy and Tiger. Roxy is a deaf bulldog bonded to Tiger. Lisa was out of the state and traveling but she did contact the shelter. The shelter said they had adopters coming into meet the two dogs and if the adoption didn’t work out they had a rescue interested in pulling both of them. Lisa promised me she would continue to contact the shelter in case all their options fell through. Lisa had an accident on the way back into CA and her van was damaged so she rented another van to go get Roxy and Tiger after all their options fell through.

Above is the first photos I sent to Lisa and the second photo is Lisa picking up the two dogs. Lisa share this on 11/14/20 on their rescue Facebook page:

Of course there is a story here! Meet Roxy and Tiger. They are Merle American Bulldogs. Roxy is deaf and Tiger is hearing. They are a bonded pair and need to stay together.
Their owners brought them to a very busy shelter because they were barking when they weren’t home.
There was a ton of interest in these two. At the end of the day, adopters and rescue didn’t show for them, so they are coming to the Ranch with the help of another rescue. They are out of the shelter and safe today. They are both very sweet, low key dogs.
Roxy is most likely pregnant, so more on that as we get more info. A vet visit is in order.

Both Roxy and Tiger will be sponsored into rescue by our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy program. We also had one of our followers pledge $100 towards their sponsorship so a big shout out and thank you to Andrea Jennings for throwing in another $100 which will help with Roxy’s vetting. Andrea will send  in her sponsorship directly to the Deaf Dog Rescue of America.

Josie –  Speak St. Louis

Our friends at Speak St. Louis did an emergency transport when a shelter contacted them about a deaf puppy who had been dumped by her owners. The Speak team knew it would be bad for the sweet girl to spend the night alone at the shelter so their team put together an emergency transport. Sweet Josie will be sponsored into Speak St. Louis through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Sponsorship program. We want to thank Vern and Patricia Kerst for donating to Deaf Dogs Rock and helping to sponsor deaf puppy Josie into a special needs rescue.

Scarlet, Cornelian and Maroon and Autumn- Green Dogs Unleashed

Above photo: Pregnant mama Autumn who has been chained outside most of her life. She is now safe.

When Green Dogs Unleashed Rescue here in Virginia took in a very pregnant mama dog named Autumn who had been tied outside on a chain most of her life another rescue met the family who purchased her on Craig’s List. The local rescue that provides outside dog houses for dogs who are out in the elements called Dogs Deserve Better helped out. They went to take the Autumn the mama dog a dog house. The people who purchased the Autumn also purchased an in tact male (merle) and once Dogs Deserved Better went to deliver the dog house and discovered that Autumn was indeed pregnant (not fat like the people who purchased her off of Craig’s List thought), the rescue asked to take her and get her to Green Dogs Unleashed Rescue who specializes in special needs rescues (deaf and deaf blind dogs) where she could safely have her puppies and all the vetting could be done.  Autumn being a dog with double merle breeding there was a pretty good chance (every puppy has a 25% chance of being deaf or deaf/blind because of the double merle gene) she might have deaf puppies and sure enough three of the puppies are deaf.

*****Because of a generous donation by Annie Hudson in honor of her deaf dog Taryn, Deaf Dogs Rock was able to sponsor all four dogs to make sure to help with their vetting before they go to their new homes through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Program. Thank you so much Annie and Taryn.

Sweet deaf pink puppy – Happy Tails Animal Rescue – Oklahoma

When we heard from our friend Moria Turner with Happy Tails Animal Rescue about a sweet little deaf girl how needed rescue we knew we wanted to help. Moria went and got the little girl. It looks as she has some major skin infection and she will need to see a vet right away. This little girl will be the recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy rescue sponsorship to help pay for her medical needs. Thanks Moria for saving this little girl.

Naomi – National Pyr Rescue

When we saw Naomi’s photo on Facebook and learned she was deaf we wanted to sponsor her through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsorship program.

Thanks to Celeste Estes for fostering Naomi and for sharing her plight so our Deaf Dogs Rock community could help out. Thanks to all of you who continue to support our mission to help one deaf dog at a time through rescue sponsorships to help pay for the vetting through rescues lik the National Pyr Rescue.

Edison – Green Dogs Unleashed

When Erika with Green Dogs Unleashed received and urgent message the day before Thanksgiving about a senior Shorkie who is deaf and has a mouth full of rotten teeth, she knew she had to get him out before the holiday. She texted me and asked if we sponsored senior deaf dogs and my reply was we sponsor all ages of deaf dogs. I especially have a soft spot for seniors so we let her know we would sponsor sweet senior deaf dog Edison so he can get the care he needs. Erika went right out and picked him up. As you can see from his photo above when he got a bath,  his body score is about a two which is really low.

Photo above: Edison after his bath settling into his foster home.

****We want to thank our supporters Patricia and Vern Kerst for their hard work and dedication to supporting our mission here at Deaf Dogs Rock to help save one deaf dog at a time. Edison was sponsored into GDU because of the monthly support we receive from Pat and Vern.

Indie – iRescue Texas

When a person in Texas reached out to us for help for a 5 month old deaf Catahoula puppy we contacted iRescue to see if they had room for Indie. iRescue got in contact with the person who saved this little girl and made arrangements to pick her up and get her into a loving foster home. Thanks to our supporters we are able to sponsor Indie into iRescue through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Program.

Frenchie puppy Green Dogs Unleashed

When a breeder reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock after doing his research on our organization, we knew we wanted to help. This 3.5 month old deaf Frenchie was returned to the breeder because the person who purchased him discovered he is deaf. He was also returned with the sniffles so we wanted to get  him into our partner rescue Green Dogs Unleashed so he could recover from his doggy cold in foster care. It is not very often we see a deaf Frenchie puppy so this little guy will be sponsored into GDU’s program through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsorship program.
