In November 2025, we saw that shelters all over the country are over crowded with dogs and cats. Unfortunately from these over crowded shelters, we are seeing more and more deaf and deaf/blind dogs and puppies who need rescue and need rescue sponsorship funding. Many of our rescue partners are currently on intake hold because they are all so overwhelmed with so many requests to take in deaf and deaf/blind dogs. The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program is to set up each deaf dog or puppy for success by networking and sponsoring them into a experienced special needs rescues where they can go into a experienced deaf dog foster homes. The foster homes are committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care before they are available for adoption. This way, each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf pup for awhile, work with the deaf dog, and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure the organization makes the very best match for each deaf dog when it comes to finding the right home for that particular deaf dog. We donate to our partner rescues to ensure each deaf dog is fully vetted before they go to a new home (spayed/neutered). We have seen many deaf dogs go on to become valued therapy partners.

It takes a thoughtful and giving tribe of animal lovers to support Deaf Dogs Rock to continue to carry out our mission of helping one deaf shelter dog at a time. Deaf Dogs Rock spends between $2500 and $4000.00 each month on Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorships.  If you would like to help sponsor a deaf dog out of a kill shelter into the safe arms of rescue, please click here to Donate.

If you would like to donate in honor of a person, your deaf dog or in memory of one of your pets, you can send us a photo for our Honor/Memory Wall and donate here.

***We would also like to thank the Shomos Family Foundation Ltd for awarding a $1000.00 grant to Deaf Dogs Rock so we can continue to help the most vulnerable shelter dogs.

Every single day on our Deaf Dogs Rock FB page you will see us put up Rescue plea posts and offer of rescue sponsorship funding for each deaf dog in need hoping to find rescues who can take the deaf and deaf/blind pups. We share deaf and deaf/blind dogs that are currently be held in shelters across the country trying to get deaf dogs out of over crowded shelters before they are euthanized to make space for more intakes. Sometimes a deaf dog who is surrendered only has a day or two for the opportunity to be pulled by a reputable foster based rescue. For this reason you will see our organization Deaf Dogs Rock offer $250-$300 (urgent medical can go up to $400 to $500) rescue sponsorship on almost every rescue plea we post up on our Deaf Dogs Rock FB page. By offering a rescue sponsorship we encourage rescues to help a deaf dog in need. Without the financial sponsorship offers to help with each deaf dog’s vetting expenses, many of the deaf shelter dogs would parish and surely die within a few days.

Deaf Dogs Rock works directly with shelters, rescues, sanctuaries, private individuals, and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program and into rescue. By doing so, each deaf pup gets the individual training, vetting, socialization, and TLC to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and our number one priority will always be to help deaf and deaf/visually impaired dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.

When our rescue partners screen potential new homes for a deaf dog/puppy, each rescue has a specific set of guidelines to follow when considering a new home for example; like checking all references, talking to the applicant’s veterinarian, and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program is so important to get the deaf dog out of the shelter (or from an individual) and help our partner rescues set up each deaf pup for a successful happy life in their new home. We do this by helping each rescue with vetting expenses so each puppy ends up in a rescue that specifically advocates for them and fully vets each special needs pup. Our Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program financially sponsors deaf dogs/puppies so each pup can be vaccinated and spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescue partners and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf pup is spay/neutered before being placed in a new home (unless they are Great Danes or Dalmatians which need to done after 12 months of age). We also offer each rescue courtesy adoption listings to be posted on our national website at Deaf Dogs Rock by targeting experienced deaf dog homes looking to add a new deaf dog to their families.

Our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored another 11 deaf dogs/pups into rescue in November, 2025 which is a huge accomplishment in a struggling economy.  In 2024 Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored 149 deaf pups into the safe arms of rescue. So far this year 2025, our Deaf Dogs Rock community has helped to sponsor another 126 deaf pups/dogs into rescue since 1/1/2025.  So far since the beginning of our Rocker Dog/Puppy Program several years ago, Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored 1804 deaf dogs into rescue (as of 11/30/25).

Below is our November 2025 Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy/Dog Rescue Sponsorship recaps….

Our friends at Speak Rescue and Sanctuary rescued three 9.5 week old Double Merle mini – Aussie pups from euthanasia. Hot Toddy, Apple Cider, and Maple Fizz will all be recipients of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program to help  the rescue with their vetting expenses. Speak reports that donations are way down and things are very tight so these sponsorships for these three special needs pups is needed to make sure they get all their vetting done before they are available for adoption.

Medical sponsorship for deaf puppy Tug – Speak For The Unspoken Rescue

When Tug arrived at Speak for the Unspoken Rescue in Ohio in August, 2025, he weighed just 3 pounds — a tiny, fragile puppy struggling to eat or keep food down. Our medical team soon learned why: Tug was born with a rare congenital defect called Persistent Right Aortic Arch (PRAA). PRAA causes a vessel near the heart to wrap around the esophagus, making it nearly impossible for food to pass normally. Every meal has been a battle for Tug, yet he’s fought with remarkable determination. The good news? PRAA can be corrected with surgery by our friends at VCA — but it’s costly, and without it, Tug’s life remains at risk. Thanks to round-the-clock care from his foster, he’s now gained six pounds. At nine pounds strong, he’s finally healthy enough for the life-saving surgery he’s been waiting for. Tug will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock  Rocker Puppy sponsorship program with a $500 medical sponsorship going to his surgery fundraiser to help Speak raise money for his surgery.

Lumos – Speak for the Unspoken Rescue – Ohio

Sweet deaf and visually impaired Lumos is now safely with Speak For The Unspoken Rescue. He came up to Ohio from North Carolina. He is doing very well in his new foster home and in just four days he has learned so many new touch cues in his training. He will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program to go towards his upcoming neuter surgery to get him ready for adoption in the near future. Thanks to our friends at Speak for helping Lumos get in a safe place and thanks to our generous supporters who continue to donate to Deaf Dogs Rock so we can work closely with our partner rescues throughout the United States in sponsors deaf and deaf/blind dogs into the safe arms of rescue. You all ROCK!

Elbert – Code Red Rescue – Texas

Sweet deaf 3 month old pittie puppy Elbert was at an Animal Shelter in Athen’s Texas when our friends at Code Red Animal Project swooped in to rescue him. Sweet Elbert will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship to help Code Red with Elbert’s upcoming neuter and vetting.

Bryer Rose – Beyond the Pack Animal Rescue Team and Sanctuary Inc. – Florida

When Beyond the Pack Animal Rescue Team and Sanctuary reached out to us about a deaf/blind puppy named Bryer Rose who needed liver shunt surgery we wanted to help out with their fundraiser. We kicked off their fundraiser for Bryer Rose by donating $400 to her upcoming liver shunt surgery which is scheduled for 11/21/25 at the University of Florida. The surgery will be very expensive (around $6500) but hopefully with a strong start to their fundraiser, they will make their goal soon.

Marisol – Miri’s Haven Senior Dog Rescue

Here at Deaf Dogs Rock we adore senior dogs like Marisol! When Miri’s Haven Senior Dog Rescue reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock for help with a medical sponsorship we were happy to help her. Marisol will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy/Dog Medical sponsorship to get her vetting started.

From Miri’s Haven Senior Dog Rescue: Marisol came to us from a crowded Baltimore shelter where she was terrified, in pain, and shutting down. Her tiny body is frail. Her fur is filthy and matted. Her eye is ulcerated and untreated because she was too scared to allow handling. She has a mammary mass that needs to be removed and biopsied. And when we tried to gently pick her up—she tried to bite. Not because she’s “mean”… but because she’s been failed. Over and over again. Imagine being 14. In pain. Alone. Confused. Surrounded by strangers and barking dogs. And now you’re somewhere new again, and everyone wants to touch you and fix you—but you don’t even know if you’re safe. That’s Marisol’s reality.

Jack – Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. Rhode Island

From Friends of Homeless Animals, Inc: Meet sweet senior deaf dog Jack, who we sprung from a local shelter. We’re not going to go much into his backstory but trust us when we tell you that his life before he got to the shelter was pretty rough. Jack is estimated to be around 14 and he’s visually and hearing impaired so when we were asked to help, of course we said yes. He was picked up today by one of our amazing fosters, and now is relaxing and being treated with kindness in a calm, safe, quiet, foster home with other senior dogs.

From Christina of Deaf Dogs Rock: We have a weakness and love for seniors here at DDR. When we saw Jack, we knew we would have to help him. Jack is now a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy/Dog Rescue Sponsorship program. We sent his rescue a sponsorship to get his vetting started and to help out with some of his upcoming vetting expenses.

Oso – Miri’s Haven Senior Dog Rescue – Maryland

When we saw our friends at Miri’s Haven Senior Dog Rescue rescue Oso the blind deaf senior Pom, we knew we had to help him. Here at Deaf Dogs Rock we cherish the senior deaf dogs but especially the smaller more vulnerable special needs pups like Oso.

From Miri’s Haven Senior Dog Rescue: This sweet, bewildered floof was surrendered to the shelter because his owner “had no time” for him. Eleven years old. Neutered. Completely blind. And possibly unable to hear. Imagine losing the world you know and the people you love ~ then being left in a unfamiliar place you can’t see or barely hear what is going on around you.
At the shelter, Oso paced in small circles, then curled up, overwhelmed and unsure of what was happening to him. But today… today, he is safe. His foster mom prepared an entire room just for him ~ a soft, quiet haven where he can decompress, learn the new layout, and remember that gentle hands still exist in this world.
Oso deserves love, dignity, and every comfort we can give him while we figure out his medical needs and help him begin again. If you’d like to support Oso’s care as he settles into this next chapter, we would be so grateful.

Oso will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy/Dog Rescue Sponsorship program to help Miri’s Haven Senior Dog Rescue with his upcoming vetting and care.

Linus – Green Dogs Unleashed

We are so happy to see sweet deaf dog Linus made it all the way from  Texas to Virginia because of the kind volunteers with the Highway Heroes Rescue Team. Linus is getting settled into his new rescue at Green Dogs Unleashed in Troy, VA. Linus will be sponsored into rescue through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy/Dog Rescue Sponsorship program to help Green Dogs Unleashed with his upcoming vetting expenses and care.
