Meet one year adoptable deaf dog Mochi who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish her, become her new best friend and always keep her safe. She is good with kids, other dogs and cats.
From her shelter advocate: Mochi came to us originally 2/5/2025 when she was approximately 2mths old. She was returned to us 1.5mths later when her owners decided to divorce. She was adopted a second time on 3/19/2025 and then returned a second time almost a year later on 1/13/2026 because she was too much responsibility. About Mochi, she said that she had been around children aged infant-3yrs old, that she didn’t have a bite history, she had a housemate that was a dog and her energy level agitated the other dog in the house. She also had a cat housemate that she did well with.
Since being back with us, we have found Mochi to be energetic and fun. She does well with other dogs and would do good in a home with another dog that is easy going and matched her energy.
Mochi is smart and pays attention to her handler. She can be taught commands like sit with hand signals. They have noticed though that just like others her age, if allowed to get away with certain behaviors, she will continue to do them. She can be difficult to walk on a leash because of that. Volunteers don’t correct her when she grabs the leash and plays tug of war with it or jump up and nips at the leash. She is very trainable and needs a family that is willing to follow through with training for her.
Mochi is a beautiful girl who deserves a second chance. If you are interested in meeting and considering adopting Mochi and want to set up a meet and greet, please email animals@longviewtexas.gov
