Meet adoptable deaf/blind 8 month old Border Collie/Aussie mix Micah who is looking for a very special and loving forever home with someone who will become his very best friend, make daily positive reinforcement touch training/socialization/enrichment a priority and always keep him safe.

From his rescue advocate: Micah is an 8-month-old Border Collie/Aussie mix who may be deaf and blind, but he doesn’t let that slow him down one bit. This adventurous pup is curious, playful, and always ready to explore the world with his people. Whether it’s swimming, hiking, riding along in the car, or working through a puzzle toy, Micah is happiest when he’s keeping his mind and body engaged.

He’s crate trained, house trained, and has settled beautifully into a routine. Micah naps contentedly in his crate, enjoys chew toys, and has learned excellent potty habits. He walks with a loose lead and, while he doesn’t have a perfect heel, he’s a confident companion who trusts his handler to guide the way. In fact, his leash manners have improved so much that he’s a joy to walk with, even if he still makes the occasional clumsy circle when you pause.

Micah is friendly with dogs of all sizes, does well with kids, and has ignored cats he’s met. He’s independent enough not to be a “Velcro dog,” yet loves the company of people and other dogs. He adapts quickly, rarely barks, and is not fazed by thunderstorms or strangers.

As a smart Border Collie/Aussie mix, Micah thrives with enrichment and would do best with a family who can keep his brain busy through training, scent work, puzzle toys, or other engaging activities. He’s currently learning touch cues and will impress you with how quickly he adjusts to new situations, even if he occasionally bumps into furniture along the way.

Micah is a brave, wiggly, and endlessly lovable pup who’s ready to join his forever family on all of life’s adventures.
