The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy program is to set up each deaf puppy/dog for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they go into a experienced deaf dog foster home that is committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care. This way each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf dog, work with the deaf dog and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure to match the dog with the right home once the adoption screening process starts. The adoption screening process is very thorough. Each interested family must fill out an adoption application that asks lots of questions and a full list of references is required to be considered for adoption.
When screening potential homes for a deaf dog/puppy, there are many guidelines to follow and a home visit is also performed to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy is so important to set each deaf pup up for a successful happy life in their new home. Our Rocker Puppy program financially sponsors each deaf dog/puppy so the dogs can be spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescues who spay/neuter each deaf dog in their care before it is placed in a new home.
It is our number one mission to make sure each deaf puppy gets basic training, socialization. are in a loving and caring foster home where their confidence soars. Our partners set each deaf dog up for success.
In May 2018, our Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored 13 deaf dogs into rescue which brings our grand total of deaf dogs sponsored in 2018 up to 45 deaf dogs sponsored thanks to the generosity of our rockin supporters! We appreciate your kind consideration, financial support and bringing deaf dogs to our attention that desperately need help. You all ROCK!

Buddy and Sissy
Buddy was taken to the Shannon Foundation for training and hopefully to find a new home one day.
Sissy – Thanks to Lucky K9 Rescue for saving sweet bully Sissy.
Norman and Salvador
Pictured above: Sweet deaf dane puppy Norman who came to Virginia from Texas
Sweet Salvador made his way all the way from Texas to Virginia. Both Norman and Salvador are in Green Dogs Unleashed Rescue to start their ASL sign training, socialization while potential homes are being screened. A big shout out to Caroline with Almost Home Rescue in Texas for fostering Salvador and also for driving several of the transport legs for Salvador and Norman. I know it was hard for you to let Salvador go.
We got sent this info that a deaf dog was just pulled from a Texas shelter and the dog needed sponsorship for vetting so we decided to sponsor this senior deaf dog. Thanks to Camo Animal Rescue for saving this senior.
Charlie from Indiana
Charlie is a 6 month old deaf dalmatian puppy who came in from Indiana because his family felt they could not give Charlie what he needed so they drove him all the way from Indiana to Green Dogs Unleashed where Charlie will go into an experienced deaf dog foster home and start is training and socialization so he can build a good solid training foundation before he goes to his new home. GDU looks for committed forever homes with families who agree to continue in their training program so Charlie can become the best dog he can be. Thanks to the Smith family for putting Charlie’s needs first and reaching out to us here at Deaf Dogs Rock to help Charlie. Also thank you driving 10 hours to safely deliver Charlie to Green Dogs Unleashed in Troy, VA.
Ollie, Mollie and Torchy
Thanks to Caroline with Almost Home Rescue in Texas for saving these three deaf puppies and getting them vetted before they are transported to Green Dogs Unleashed here in Virginia. There are so many deaf puppies coming out of Texas so we are thankful for the foster home Caroline provides to get the pups vetted before they make their rescue transport to Virginia.
Pilot
Thanks to Green Dogs Unleashed for taking deaf puppy Pilot in. He is now in foster care and he may have some hearing after all (still to soon to tell).
Cam
Thanks to Angels 2 The Rescue for pulling deaf pibble boy Cam. He was in a shelter in Mountain City TN when we sent out rescue pleas and told the shelter we would offer a rescue sponsorship for this sweet boy. Rescue sponsorships work so please consider giving to Deaf Dogs Rock so we can continue to give deaf dogs like Cam who have a slim shot at making it out of a shelter the chance to survive. Pablo
When Amber Adams with Galveston County Animal Resource Center reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock to help get Pablo to rescue all of our partner rescues were full at the time so we offered a $200 Rocker Puppy sponsorship and told Amber to please let the local boxer rescues know that if the pull Pablo, Deaf Dogs Rock will sponsor him which will help with his vetting costs since he needed to be neutered. We were so happy to hear from Amber that Lone Star Boxer Rescue pulled Pablo on 5/25/18. Thanks to the Lone Star team and to Amber for advocating for a deaf boxer in her shelter.
Delilah
Sweet Delilah was rescued by Speak For The Unspoken in St. Louis (Speak St. Louis) but then it was discovered this deaf girl was Heartworm positive so Deaf Dogs Rock sent in a sponsorship for her for $300 to go towards her HW treatment. We wish her a speedy recovery and someone is going to be a very lucky family when she is all better and available for adoption. Thanks Speak St. Louis for taking such good care of her.
