It takes a thoughtful and giving tribe of animal lovers to support Deaf Dogs Rock to continue to carry out our mission of helping one deaf dog at a time. Deaf Dogs Rock spends between $2500 and $4000.00 each month on Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorships. If you would like to help sponsor a deaf dog out of a kill shelter into the safe arms of rescue, please click here to Donate.
If you would like to donate in honor of a person, your deaf dog or in memory of one of your pets, you can send us a photo for our Honor/Memory Wall and donate here.
Every single day on our Deaf Dogs Rock FB page you will see Rescue posts on our Deaf Dogs Rock FB page which we put up for shelters across the country trying to get deaf dogs out of over crowded shelters before their time is up and they are euthanized. Sometimes a deaf dog who is surrendered only has a day or two for the opportunity to be pulled by a reputable foster based rescue so that is why you will see our organizations offer $250-$300 on almost every rescue plea we post up on our Deaf Dogs Rock FB page so we can encourage rescues to help a deaf dog in need. Without the financial sponsorship offers to help with each dog’s vetting expenses, may of the deaf shelter dogs would parish and surely die within a few days.
The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program is to set up each deaf dog or puppy for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they can go into a experienced deaf dog foster homes. The foster homes are committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care before they are available for adoption. This way, each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf pup for awhile, work with the deaf dog, and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure the organization makes the very best match for each deaf dog when it comes to finding the right home for that particular deaf dog.
Deaf Dogs Rock works directly with shelters, rescues, sanctuaries, private individuals, and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program and into rescue. By doing so, each deaf pup gets the individual training, vetting, socialization, and TLC to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and our number one priority will always be to help deaf dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.
When our rescue partners screen potential new homes for a deaf dog/puppy, each rescue has a specific set of guidelines to follow when considering a new home for example; like checking all references, talking to the applicant’s veterinarian, and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program is so important to get the deaf dog out of the shelter (or from an individual) and help our partner rescues set up each deaf pup for a successful happy life in their new home. We do this by helping each rescue with vetting expenses so each puppy ends up in a rescue that specifically advocates for them and fully vets each special needs pup. Our Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program financially sponsors deaf dogs/puppies so each pup can be vaccinated and spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescue partners and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf pup is spay/neutered before being placed in a new home (unless they are Great Danes or Dalmatians which need to done after 12 months of age).
Our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored another 10 deaf dogs/pups into rescue in May 2025 which is a huge accomplishment in a struggling economy. In 2024 Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored 149 deaf pups into the safe arms of rescue and we are kicking off 2025 starting with 61 deaf pups sponsored into rescue since 1/1/2025. So far since the beginning of our Rocker Dog/Puppy Program several years ago, Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored 1738 deaf dogs into rescue (as of 5/31/25).
Our May 2025 DDR Rescue Sponsorship Recaps are below:
Veronica – St. Louis MO
Thanks to our friends at Speak Rescue and Sanctuary little deaf 6 year old, heartworm positive shelter dog Veronica is now safe. She is such a good girl and will be available for adoption soon once all her vetting has been done. Veronica is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy/Dog Rescue Sponsorship program to help the rescue with some of her upcoming vetting costs to get her ready for adoption soon.
Tyson – Chelsea’s Hope Boxer Rescue
When a person reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock because her boxer was chasing and killing chickens so we reached out to Chelsea’s Hope Boxer Rescue to see if they could taka Tyson and find him a new loving forever home. Tyson is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rock Nitro’s Fund sponsorship program that helps deaf boxers (like our deaf boxers Nitro and Bud) to help Chelsea’s Hope Boxer Rescue with Tyson’s care and vetting expenses.
Arty – Speak Rescue and Sanctuary
Sweet Arty (above) on his rescue ride to Speak Rescue and Sanctuary. Arty is a young 6 month old going through his teenage phase with his previous family but without foundation training and Arty being a herding breed, he was just a bit to much for the family.
We are so happy he has made his way to Speak Rescue and Sanctuary where he will go into a experienced foster home and will receive daily positive reinforcement training/socialization/enrichment and a structured routine. Arty is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship program to help Speak with his upcoming vetting to get him ready for his new home. Thank you to our friends Vern and Patricia Kerst for donating to Deaf Dogs Rock so Arty could be a recipient
Montana 2007 – 2020 – A donation in memory of sweet deaf dog Montana
Thanks to Angie and Kevin Guinn who donated $500 in memory of their sweet deaf dog Montana who passed away 5 years ago in 2020. Angie writes: To our sweet Montana, we miss you every day little man. Your memory is a blessing to mom and dad.

Duncan, Hamlet, Dogberry and Derby (the Shakespeare pups) – Speak Rescue and Sanctuary – MO
When a deaf pregnant Aussie girl Juliet was dumped and almost ready to deliver her litter of Double Merle pups, she luckily landed in Speak Rescue and Sanctuary in Mo. and it was a miracle she landed in the most experienced special needs rescue in the Midwest because Juliet gave birth to 10 Double Merle puppies and five of them ended up being deaf or deaf with vision impairments. The Speak teamed named Juliet’s puppies ‘the Shakespeare pups’. The would not know for several weeks if any of Juliet’s puppies had impairments but around 4 weeks old they realized 5 of the puppies were either deaf and or deaf/vision impaired.

***Thanks to Angie and Kevin Guinn and their donation to Deaf Dogs Rock in memory of their deaf dog Montana, these three will be sponsored by the funds sent to Deaf Dogs Rock in memory of sweet deaf dog Montana (see above post on Montana).
As you can see from above Spring is when puppy season is exploding and unfortunately that means there are lots of Double Merle parents being bred which also means there are so many deaf and deaf/blind puppies who need help. We see so many deaf and deaf blind DM Aussie pups, Catahoulas, and bully breeds that most of our rescue partner are completely overwhelmed with the vetting expenses of taking in so many deaf puppies. The good news is Deaf Dogs Rock is here to help some of the special needs rescues by sponsoring deaf puppies and dogs through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy/Dog Rescue Sponsorship program. Speak Rescue and Sanctuary in MO has seen so many deaf puppies being dumped at shelters and they have stepped up to help as many as they can in this time of need so our job is to help them help these deaf puppies by sponsoring some of their vetting expenses. We could not continue to sponsor deaf pups in need if it was not for the support of our amazing donors who continue to support our cause.
Dexter and Ivy – White Diamond Double Merle Dane Rescue
When Deaf Dogs Rock spotted two deaf and visually impaired pups on Facebook we reached out to Christine with White Diamond Double Merle Dane Rescue to let her know if she could take the pups into her recue, we would sponsor each puppy through our Rocker Puppy/Dog Rescue Sponsorship program. I am happy to report both pups Dexter and Ivy arrived to the Northeast from Georgia safely and are now in safe and loving foster homes. Each puppy will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship program so we can help the rescue with their upcoming vetting expenses to get them ready for adoption in the near future.
Luna – Green Dogs Unleashed VA
Our friends at Green Dogs Unleashed Rescue in Troy VA rescued 14 week old deaf blue heeler puppy Luna. She is now in foster care (thank you Kim B.) and learning the ropes with several other deaf heelers who are in her foster family. She is having a great time! She is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program to help Green Dogs Unleashed with her upcoming vetting expenses. Thanks to our friends Patricia and Vern Kersh who donated to DDR so we could sponsor sweet Luna’s vetting. Pat and Vern also have several hearing and deaf heeler dogs in their home.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your continued support so we can continue to sponsor deaf dogs and deaf and deaf/blind pups into special needs rescues. You all ROCK! ~ Christina Lee – Deaf Dogs Rock
