Thank you to all of our supporters who donated to Deaf Dogs Rock in the month of May to keep our mission going! Our Deaf Dogs Rock community has sponsored 33 deaf dogs into rescue in May 2022. What a huge accomplishment and all time record for sponsorships in one month. Unfortunately we are seeing so many deaf Double Merle bred puppies in the shelters across the country that many of our sponsorships are going to help 8-12 week deaf and deaf/blind puppies out of kill shelters into the safe arms of our special needs partner rescues.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for continuing to support our mission to save one deaf dog at a time. We also want to give a huge shout out and THANK YOU to every single person and company who donated to this year in 2022,  so we can continue to sponsor deaf dogs and puppies into rescue.

It takes a tribe of animal lovers to support Deaf Dogs Rock to continue to carry out our mission. Deaf Dogs Rock spent between $7000+ in the month of May 22 on Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorships!   If you would like to help sponsor a deaf dog out of a kill shelter into the safe arms of rescue, please click here to Donate.

The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsorship program is to set up each deaf puppy/deaf dog for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they go into a experienced deaf dog foster homes who are committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care. This way, each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf pup for awhile, work with the deaf dog, and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure the organization makes the very best match for each deaf dog with the right home once the adoption screening process starts.

Deaf Dogs Rock works with shelters, rescues, private individuals, and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our Rocker Puppy sponsorship program and into rescue. By doing so, each deaf pup gets the individual training, vetting, socialization, and TLC to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and our number one priority will always be to help deaf dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.

When potential homes are screened for a deaf dog/puppy, each partner rescue has a specific set of guidelines to follow when considering a new home for example like checking all references, talking to the applicant’s veterinarian, and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy is so important to set up each deaf pup for a successful happy life in their new home. Our Rocker Puppy sponsorship program financially sponsors deaf dogs/puppies so each pup can be vaccinated and spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescue partners and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf pup is spay/neutered before being placed in a new home. If you would like to donate to our Rocker Puppy sponsorship program, please click here.

Our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored 33 deaf dogs/pups in May 2022 which is a huge accomplishment in a struggling economy. So far in the first 20 weeks of 2022, our DDR community has sponsored 114 deaf pups into rescue.

Thanks to the financial support of our loyal Deaf Dogs Rock community, D.D.R. can continue to help deaf dogs in need. So far since our start of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Sponsorship program, our community has sponsored 1210 deaf dogs and pups into rescue (as of 5/31/22).

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your kind consideration and continued financial support.

Becks – Happy Tails Animal Rescue – OK

Our friends at Happy Tails Animal OK Rescue took in sweeet deaf Aussie Becks. Becks was shy and a little fearful but Moria has been working hard to gain his heart and trust. Becks will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsorship program to help Happy Tails with some of his vetting expenses to get him prepared for adoption in the near future. We want to personally thank Stacy Kluczwski and all of her ASL students at Ellington High School in Ellington, Connecticut for their donation to Deaf Dogs Rock so we could help Becks with  his vetting expenses. The ASL students at Ellington High hosted an event to bring awareness about American Sign Language and the Deaf community. They raised $175.00 and donated it all to Deaf Dogs Rock.

Kanoa and Kayl – Speak Rescue and Sanctuary

So many deaf puppies coming into rescue this month. Meet sweet Kanoa and Kayl who were rescued by Speak Rescue and Sanctuary in St. Louis. These two brothers are the result of merle to merle breeding (Double Merle) which means each puppy has a 25% chance at being deaf or deaf/blind. We know one of the pups is deaf and the other may not be able to hear 100% (could be unilaterally deaf or have full hearing). Both pups will be recipients of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsorship program to help with their vetting when they go into foster care to get them ready for adoption. Thanks to our friends over  at Speak Rescue and Sanctuary for making room for these two angels.

Cerenia, Chauncey, and Roland will be sponsored through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Sponsorship Program to help with their basic vetting costs so the rescue will have the resources to continue to help Double Merle pups like these little munchkins. Medical Sponsorship – Tug – Road to Home Rescue Support

Poor Tug, His owner passed away and he was passed from home to home until Road to Home Rescue Support stepped into help. From Road to Home Rescue Support Team: “Tug went into foster care but after a while, one of the resident dogs was not accepting of Tug and attacked him. He had emergency care and weeks of healing. Now poor Tug has developed new issues, for which we brought him to the neurologist. He needs to have an Mri on Monday to help better determine what is going on. Tug has been through so much sadness. We will do everything to help him but need your support. His previous medical expenses were over 3,500 and the upcoming MRI cost is 3,000. We have no idea what will be involved afterwards.”  Deaf Dogs Rock sent in $400 for a medical sponsorship to get their FB fundraising moving.

Dalmatian Bozeman – Hot Mess Pooches

Thanks to Kate Mick at the Wayne County Dog Shelter in Wooster OH for reaching out for help for a deaf Dalmatian who came into their shelter. They wanted to get him out of the shelter environment because he was so stressed so I reached out to Natalie with Hot Mess Pooches Rescue and Sanctuary in Texas because with her being from Columbus Ohio I knew she could put a transport together in 24 hours and she has many deaf foster families in the Ohio area. Thanks to Kate, Natalie, the transport volunteer and the volunteer foster home that all stepped up for sweet Bozeman on such short notice. Kate also squeezed Bozeman into see the vet right away so he could be fully vaccinated before the transport volunteer showed up. Now that is what I call team work. Deaf mama dog Keke and her 9 pupppies – Margaret’s Saving Grace Bully Rescue

When we heard from Duplin County Animal Services in NC saying they had a pregnant deaf female named Keke was in the shelter that needed out before she had her puppies, Deaf Dogs Rock put out an urgent rescue plea to see if a reputable foster based 501c3 rescue would help out. Within 24 hours Keke had given birth to 9 puppies. It won’t be know how many of the puppies are deaf until they are about 4 weeks old. Keke is also Heartworm Positive so she will have to be treated for Heartworms. We were so excited to hear that Officer Lane and Ms. Katlyn from the shelter transported Keke and her puppies from North Carolina to their new foster home in West Virginia. Deaf Dogs Rock sent in $1000.00 through our Rocker Puppy Sponsorship program to Margaret’s Saving Grace Bully Rescue who was the only rescue who stepped up to help this sweet girl and her puppies. It takes a tribe of Rescue Warrior Women to come together to save TEN lives. Thanks to all our our Deaf Dogs Rock supporters who continue to financially support our mission to  help to get deaf dogs out of shelters into the safe arms of rescue. Thanks also to Margaret’s Saving Grace Bully Rescue for making the commitment to Keke and her puppies and also to Officer Lane and Katlyn who contacted Deaf Dogs Rock to seek help so we could be a part of their team. Thank you to Laura Cooper from Wild Flower Seaglass art who sent in $450 donation from the sales of her art. She donated to three animal organizations and since she has a beautiful deaf dog named Snoopy she supports Deaf Dogs Rock so we can continue to sponsor deaf pups like Snoopy into special needs rescues.
