Meet adoptable deaf 2.5 year old Boxer boy Max who is looking for a loving home with someone who will cherish him, continue his training and always keep him safe.

From his rescue advocate: West Coast Boxer Rescue is so happy to be able to introduce this special guy Maximus, but we think he is more of a Max. Max was red listed due to his family dumping him because of resource guarding his home … we were able to get to him just in time. Max is deaf and was learning hand signs in his foster home.

Max went from foster into professional training for behavior and obedience training for 12 weeks; he does know some hand signals and we continue to work with his response to his vibration collar. His forever home is going to need someone willing to continue to teach him signs; he does resource guard against other dogs; however, can interact with slow, proper introductions. Continued behavioral training will need to be reinforced to reduce/eliminate his reactions and help him to feel safe around other dogs and in his environment.

Max has been with us since November 2021 and has not found his forever home. He is currently being kenneled as we continue to look for his new foster and forever home. Max is a sweet, affectionate boy who we believe will be a wonderful addition to a family once given the opportunity to feel safe, loved and provided consistent positive reinforcement training.
