Update 8/05/17: Marshmallow has been adopted!

From the rescue: Marshmallow, her brother, and 2 sisters are pure bred Cocker Spaniel pups who came to GDU from a family who did not realize that their two Cocker Spaniels carried a recessive Merle gene. Four pups out of a litter of 9 were born deaf or deaf and vision impaired. They reached out to GDU to help.

Marshmallow is living up to her name. She’s incredibly sweet and quiet. She hasn’t met a belly rub she doesn’t like and doesn’t have much interest in cats, she’s much more interested in food and people. She will hunt down a treat from across the room, so if you’re a foodie you may have quite the friend in the making.

Marshmallow is deaf and has microphthalmia, though she does have some vision. She does a solid “sit” with hand signals and she checks in regularly.
