In March 2018, Deaf Dogs Rock sponsored 10 deaf dogs through our Rocker Puppy Progam (9 where rescue sponsorships and 1 was a medical sponsorship). In January (8), February (7) and March (10), Deaf Dogs Rock sponsored a total of 25 deaf dogs into rescue in the first quarter of 2018 through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Program. Thank you to our thoughtful donors who send in financial support so we can continue to sponsor deaf dogs and puppies into the safe harbor of rescue. Without your kindness and support many of these deaf dogs would never make it out of the shelters alive.

The core mission of our Rocker Puppy program is for rescue set up each deaf puppy/dog up for success by sending them into a experienced and positive foster home gives each rescue/foster and opportunity to accurately evaluate each dog/puppy to make sure to match the dog with the right home once the adoption screening process starts. The adoption screening process is very thorough. Each interested family must fill out an adoption application that asks lots of questions and also asks for lots of references. There are many guidelines to follow and a home visit is also performed to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy is so important. It sets up each puppy with a sponsorship so the puppy can go into experienced partner organizations who are the dog’s number one advocate. They get the training, socialization, love and confidence they need before they go to an approved home.

We could not sponsor deaf dogs and puppies into rescue without your help. Read all of our Rocker Puppy stories on our Donate Page and if you would like to help us help them, please click here to donate.

Peppermint

So happy to see Peppermint make it to iRescue in Texas. We were honored to be able to help with his vetting and neuter surgery.

Hawkeye

When we put a rescue plea up with a sponsorship offer for deaf dog Hawkeye at the Franklin Co. Animal Shelter in Louisburg NC, we were crossing our fingers a rescue would step up. Today we heard from 2PawsUp NC Shelter Rescue and they pulled Hawkeye to safety so we will send in Hawkeye’s rescue sponsorship.

Sam

Sam is another deaf dog that came from Texas and into Green Dogs Unleashed here in Virginia. Thanks to Caroline Walker Trulock with Almost Home Pet Rescue who reached out to GDU and DDR to get Sam here to Virginia. Erika with GDU spent several weeks working with Sam to help him with basic training and to get over his separation anxiety. Sam was a very fast learner and within a couple of weeks he was adopted and living the good life with his new human.

Lola from Texas

We were happy to help deaf boxer Lola fly from Texas to Virginia into Green Dogs Unleashed where she went into foster care to start her training. After a few weeks in foster care she got her vetting done (spay) and potential families where screened to find her the perfect home. She has since been adopted.

Fabio

Fabio has had a long hard road and finally after over a year of emails, Fabio is now safe with our friends at Deaf Dogs Rescue of America. We told Lisa if she every took in Fabio that Deaf Dogs Rock would sponsor him to get him into a program with people who are so experienced living and training deaf dogs. Those two people are Mark and Lisa Tipton with the Deaf Dogs Rescue of America. A big shout out and thank you to Mark, Lisa and all the volunteers who helped get Fabio from Florida to California. Tango, Blanca and Winter

Tango

Winter

There are so many deaf dogs coming out of Texas and we are so fortunate to be able to work with iRescue in Killeen/Weaterford TX because they made room for deaf pups. Tango, Blanca and Winter. Deaf Dogs Rock sent in sponsorship for all three dogs so they can be vetted/spayed/neutered before they get adopted. Thanks to all of you who support Deaf Dogs Rock so we can help partner rescues like iRescue do the important work they do to help deaf dogs out of Texas kill shelters.
