Thank you to all of our supporters who donated to Deaf Dogs Rock in the month of March 2020 to keep our mission going! The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy program is to set up each deaf puppy/dog for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they go into a experienced deaf dog foster home that is committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care. This way each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf dog, work with the deaf dog, and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure to match the dog with the right home once the adoption screening process starts. The adoption screening process is very thorough. Each interested family must fill out an adoption application that asks lots of questions and a full list of references is required to be considered for adoption.
We work with shelters, rescues, private individual and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our Rocker Puppy program to make sure each deaf dog/puppy gets the individual training, socialization, and love to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and are here to help deaf dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.
When screening potential homes for a deaf dog/puppy, there are many guidelines to follow like checking all references, talking to the applicant’s veterinarian and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy is so important to set each deaf pup up for a successful happy life in their new home. Our Rocker Puppy program financially sponsors each deaf dog/puppy so the dogs can be spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescues and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf dog/puppy is spay/neutered before being placed in a new home.
Even though donations stopped in mid March, due to the Corona Virus, that did not stop us from continuing to sponsor deaf dogs in need. Our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored 9 dogs/puppies in March which is a huge accomplishment considering we are in the middle of a Pandemic. Thanks to the financial support of our loyal Deaf Dogs Rock community, we can continue to help deaf dogs in need. So far since our start of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsorship program we have sponsored 708 deaf dogs (as of 3/30/20). So far in 2020, Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored 39 deaf dogs/pups into the safe arms of rescue. We could not do it without your on going support! Thank you, thank you, thank you! ~Christina Lee
PS: Here are our monthly recaps for deaf dogs our community sponsored in March 2020
Cardi – Green Dogs Unleashed
Welcome Cardi who came all the way from Texas to Virginia to where she will start her new life’s journey with Green Dogs Unleashed Rescue in Troy, VA. Many of the deaf dogs and puppies that come out of Texas go to our partner rescue at Green Dogs Unleashed so we are very thankful to Erika and her team who always give us a yes when we ask them to take another deaf dog/puppy into rescue.
Bud, Bunny and Clover – Speak St. Louis

Thanks to Speak St. Louis for making room in their rescue for these three deaf Aussie pups so they can have an opportunity to get their vetting, learn cool new things in their foster homes, and to start their new life with a carefully screened new family. Because of our supporters we can sponsor deaf puppies like Bud, Bunny and Clover to be vetted and to start their journey to a new loving forever family.
Cricket – From Hawaii to Seattle – Dog Gone Seattle.
When Ashley from the Kauai HI SPCA reached out to us for help to sponsor deaf dog Cricket from the island of Kauai to ask Deaf Dogs Rock if we could help get Cricket from Hawaii to the mainland to Seattle were happy to help. Cricket is the third deaf dog we have sponsored from Hawaii so each deaf dog could be flown to the mainland and sponsored into a reputable foster based rescue. A big shout out to Jenny with Dog Gone Seattle Rescue for agreeing to make room for sweet deaf pup Cricket. The above photo is Cricket after arriving in Seattle on her flight from Hawaii relaxing at her new foster home.
Mason – Green Dogs Unleashed

Thanks to our friend Crystal who alerted us to a deaf Doodle puppy Mason we were able to put together a short notice rescue transport to get Mason into the safe arms of his new foster mom (with deaf puppy Cardi we transported last week). Mason will be having a great puppy time with deaf puppy Cardi. Thanks to Becky who drove the third leg of the transport and also to Erika with Green Dogs Unleashed for helping us out.
Rain – Wings of Freedom Rescue Inc
We received so many urgent messages about Rain that we put out a Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Sponsorship offer to a reputable foster based 501c3 rescue to pull him, get him into foster care and find him a loving forever home. We are so grateful to everyone who shared his post, to those of you who support our mission here at Deaf Dogs Rock and to the two rescues who worked together to help Rain get out of the shelter before his time was up.
Thanks to Wings of Freedom Animal Rescue for pulling Rain and getting him in foster with Rock On Rescue Inc. It literally takes a tribe of rescue warriors all coming together to help deaf dogs in need of rescue.
Hippa – Shar Pei Rescue of Virginia

Deaf Dogs Rock put out several rescue pleas for a senior deaf Shar Pei in Greenville SC. We finally heard back from the Shar Pei Rescue of Virginia who has pulled her to safety. We are so grateful for their help and we sent Hippa’s sponsorship over to them to help with getting her spayed so in the near future she can become available for adoption. Update 3/30/20: Hippa was adopted by her foster family.
Hero – Deaf Dogs of Oregon
Since everyone is now sheltering in place adoptions, donations, and rescue transports are at a standstill so we were so happy to see Deaf Dogs of Oregon step up and take Hero into their rescue. Deaf Dogs of Oregon needed some help to cover some of Hero’s medical expenses so Deaf Dogs Rock was happy to send them in a sponsorship to help with some of Hero’s expenses. Thanks to our Deaf Dogs Rock community over the past six months we do have some funds available to continue to sponsor deaf dogs in need.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your continued support. We could not help deaf dogs in need without your vital support. Click here if you would like to help us out by donating to sponsor a deaf dog in need.
