Thank you to all of our supporters who donated to Deaf Dogs Rock in the month of March 2021 to keep our mission going! Our Deaf Dogs Rock community has sponsored 13 deaf dogs/pups into rescue in the month of March 2021. It is an early PUPPY season this March with deaf puppies showing up at Animal Shelters across the country. With sponsoring 19 deaf dogs in January and another 21 deaf dogs in February and 13 deaf dogs this month, our Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored 53 deaf dogs into rescue in the first quarter of 2021.
It takes a tribe of animal lovers to support Deaf Dogs Rock to continue to carry out our mission. If you would like to help sponsor a deaf dog out of a kill shelter into the safe arms of rescue, please click here to Donate.
The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsorship program is to set up each deaf puppy/dog for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they go into a experienced deaf dog foster homes who are committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care. This way each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf dog, work with the deaf dog, and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure the organization makes a great match for each deaf dog with the right home once the adoption screening process starts.
Deaf Dogs Rock works with shelters, rescues, private individual and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our Rocker Puppy sponsorship program and into rescue. By doing so, each deaf pup gets the individual training, socialization, and love to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and our number one priority will always be to help deaf dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.
When screening potential homes for a deaf dog/puppy, each partner rescue has a specific set of guidelines to follow like checking all references, talking to the applicant’s veterinarian and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy is so important to set each deaf pup up for a successful happy life in their new home. Our Rocker Puppy sponsorship program financially sponsors each deaf dogs/puppies so the dogs can be vaccinated and spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescue partners and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf pup is spay/neutered before being placed in a new home. Our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored 13 deaf dogs/puppies in March, 2021 which is a huge accomplishment considering we are in the middle of a Pandemic. Thanks to the financial support of our loyal Deaf Dogs Rock community, we can continue to help deaf dogs in need. Darwin – Green Dogs Unleashed Rescue – Virginia
When Darwin’s person reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock to help find her Boston Terrier Darwin a loving new home, we were happy to help. Darwin is a very handsome deaf boston terrier not getting along with the other dogs in the home. Darwin lived with several tiny humans in the home so it became clear he needed a home with no small children and a more structured environment where he could thrive. We reached out to Erika at Green Dogs Unleased Rescue here in Virginia and Erika like myself we are huge Boston Terrier fans so she made room for Darwin. Thanks to Karen, Darwin’s advocate for getting on a flight and flying him directly to Virginia (in cabin) from Texas so that Darwin would not have to go on a 2 day ground rescue transport which can be very stressful for a deaf dog.
Meena – Tuff Dawgs Rescue – Indiana
Our Deaf Dogs Rock community offered a $200 rescue sponsorship for deaf dog Meena who had been passed around a lot. She did have an advocate who reached out to us named Janet and Janet made sure Meena found a foster based rescue to give her a new life. Meena is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Sponsorship program and she was sponsored into Tuff Dawgs Rescue
Stone – Scooby Doo’s Rescue Mission
When our friend Monica Brown in Texas shared the sweet deaf puppy Stone with us we offered a Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship to a reputable 501c3 foster based rescue to help Stone. Thanks to Scooby Doo’s Rescue Mission sweet Stone has gone to Rescue and into a loving foster home. Thanks to our friends Patricia and Vernon Kerst for sponsoring sweet Stone into rescue.
Q-Tip and Cletus – Happy Tails Animal Rescue – Oklahoma
We are in full puppy season which means there are many Double Merle Aussie Puppies coming into this world as I write this post. There are so many deaf puppies who need rescue that my email box if full every morning. Thanks to our friends at Happy Tails Animal Rescue for continuing to take in so many deaf and deaf/blind puppies this Spring to make sure they get the training, socialization and vetting they will need while potential loving homes are being carefully screened. Both Q-Tip and Cletus are recipients of our Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program to help with their vetting costs.
Sunshine and Cleo – Speak St. Louis Rescue
Sweet Sunshine needed a safe rescue after his owner got in a snow mobile accident and is laid up for some time. The family felt it would be better to find Sunshine a new home so he could be with an active person to meet his needs. Sunshine is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Sponsorship program and is sponsored into Speak St. Louis Rescue.
Cleo
So many Double Merle puppies being born in the last few months. Just a few years back a puppy like Cleo would have been put to sleep for being deaf but not today. There are wonderful special needs rescues who advocate and become the voice of the most vulnerable deaf pups. Thanks to our friends at Speak St. Louis Rescue for saving Cleo and thanks to our wonderful supporters who continue to support Deaf Dogs Rock so we can sponsor Cleo’s vetting through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Program.
Ronan – Green Dogs Unleashed
When a English Bulldog breeder reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock for help with a deaf puppy she had, we offered our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Program for deaf puppy Ronan. We sponsored him into rescue with our partner rescue just up the road here in Virginia Green Dogs Unleashed where he will get to go to Puppy training classes, learn crate training, house training at his new foster home, and learn all kinds of cool new Deaf Dog Sign Language cues to set him up for success in his new home. Once Ronan training is going well and he is fully vetted, he will be looking for a new forever home (that is if his foster family doesn’t adopt him first).
Juniper at an Oklahoma Shelter – Happy Tails Animal Rescue – OK
This sweet little girl found herself picked up as a stray in Oklahoma and ended up in the shelter. She appears to be very young, deaf and she only weighs about 20 pounds. No one came forward to claim her so she was pulled by Happy Tails Animal Rescue in Oklahoma and went directly into foster. She will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Sponsorship program to help with her vetting expenses. Juniper was sponsored in part from Mark Boles in honor of his deaf dog Bleu.
Aspen ake Betty – Green Dogs Unleashed Rescue
When we received Aspen’s information we reached out to Aspen’s caregiver to see if we could sponsor Aspen into our partner rescue here in Virginia Green Dogs Unleashed. Since Aspen is only 12 months old, I knew she could use some structure and additional training to set her up for success in her new home. She came from a home with small children and her owner did not have the time it would take to teach her good manners and get her the daily exercise that all boxers need.
Aspen new name is Betty and she will be sponsored into rescue through our very special fund called Nitro’s Fund specifically set up to sponsor deaf boxers like our sweet deaf boxer Nitro who passed in 2018. If you would like to donate to Nitro’s Fund, please click here.
Fury – Green Dogs Unleashed
Sweet Fury was purchased during the Covid Pandemic by a young woman who lived in Texas and had no idea the puppy she purchased was deaf. When she found herself having to move to PA, she could no longer keep Fury so our partner rescue here in Virginia Green Dogs Unleashed stepped up and took Fury into their rescue. Fury will be sponsored into rescue by our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy program so his vetting can be sponsored.
Ziva – Green Dogs Unleashed.
Ziva’s family could no longer afford her care so she was given to a woman who fell in love with her. Unfortunately the woman who took the dog lived in an apartment and also lived across from a Marina with a very busy public boat dock. Ziva pretty much sat and looked out the window and barked all day and when she did take Ziva for walks she got loose several times around car traffic. Her caregiver reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock and we felt it would be in Ziva’s best interest to get her into rescue at Green Dogs Unleashed Rescue and put her in an experienced deaf Great Pyrenees home where she would get additional training and also have a big fenced area to run and play in. Ziva is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Sponsorship program where her vetting will be sponsored thanks to our wonderful Deaf Dogs Rock community who generously support our mission to help one deaf dog at a time.
Amazing Aussies Lethal White Rescue of Arizona – Quint

Thanks to our supporters our Deaf Dogs Rock community can help our partner rescues like Amazing Aussies Lethal White Rescue of Arizona continue to help deaf dogs and puppies in need.
