Meet our Deaf Dogs Rock Star of The Day adoptable deaf Australian Cattle dog/Bull mix Lio who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him, provide daily positive reinforcement training/structure/enrichment and always keep him safe.

From his advocate: LIO is an easy going special needs 2 year old Australian Cattle dog terrier mix looking for a loving human companion.
He is a special boy who is deaf, but it is hard to tell because he adapts easily.
He would be best with an adopter who can be in charge and give him clear expectations of what is expected of him. Deaf dogs thrive in a daily structured environment filled with positive reinforcement training, socialization and enrichment.
In return, you will have a loving companion, who wants to please and enjoy life with you.
Moderately active boy, who even though he is young, is not hyper or nervous.
Happy to go for walks, cuddle up on the couch, lay at your feet while you work on the computer or follow you around the yard as you garden.
He just wants love, attention (but not needy) and a soft place to lounge.
Dog friendly with female, large and small dogs who won’t get ‘yappy’ in his face. He would love to be your one and only, getting all of your affection.
Housetrained, with good house manners.

Crate trained, although not his favorite, he will go in, but would prefer to be laying at your feet.
Enjoys sitting in his human’s lap, getting pet and belly rubs.
He enjoys treats, dog toys, long belly rubs, lounging in the pool on the steps or sunning himself in the yard.
Great car rider who likes to feel the fresh air and sunshine on his face.
Lio has had professional training learning how to walk next to his person on a leash, and has mastered commands ‘sit, down, stay and off’.
He sleeps through the night in his own bed.
Lio has not been destructive inside or outside. He is not a big barker at all.
He has not been cat tested, so we are unable to adopt him to a home with cats or small critters.
He would be great for a family with grown children, a single person or a couple.
A home with a fenced yard would be best to keep him safe.
Deaf dog experience is not required, just a good adopter who is willing to be a leader, provide structure and give him a safe and loving home.
Lio was saved by the rescue from an overcrowded high kill shelter in Texas. He is a good happy boy who was to be euthanized just due to lack of space.
He currently lives in a foster home with many dogs, but he really wants to have his own home with his own human to love him forever.
All Lio wants is a human(s) to love. Will you be his hero and let him know he is loved?

Lio is 49 lbs, neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, including rabies, heartworm negative and current on prevention.

Facetime meet/greet available for potential adopter.
Fostered in Texas, with transportation available to most U.S. states.

Lio’s adoption fee has been sponsored. If you are the right home for Lio, the rescue will get him to you.
