Meet adoptable deaf, one year old, border collie/lab/boxer mix Knox who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him, make daily positive reinforcement training/socialization/enrichment a priority and always keep him safe.

From his rescue advocate;

Knox is a deaf, 1-year-old, 55 lb, male Hound mix who loves playing fetch and tug-of-war!

His superpowers include being an adorable and playful pup, loving all people and kids, and getting along great with other dogs. He loves going to the dog park, hiking with his humans, running at the beach, or taking a swim in the pool. He is high-energy and loves to be the center of attention. He is a smarty-pants, who doesn’t let being deaf stop him. He picked up many hand signals very quickly and loves to show off for treats.

Knox is housebroken and crate-trained, but because he is deaf, he does have some separation anxiety when he is left alone. Knox takes medicine when going in the crate and only as needed, but it works like a charm.

If you’re looking for a buddy who enjoys outdoor activities, or someone to keep your kids busy, Knox might be your perfect match.

Knox is currently being fostered in Staten Island, NY. His adoption fee is $425.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt – an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
