Meet adoptable deaf 5 year old King who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him and always keep him safe.
From his caregiver: King was surrendered to us to foster instead of going to the shelter. He lived with his first family and adopted sister, Abby, for 3 years but did not get enough time, attention or care. We took both of them in and she found her forever home a few months ago.
King has done a great deal of training with us and is ready to be someone’s best friend. He had a quirky, lively personality. Despite being deaf, he is vocal and communicates very well. He is very sweet and loves to cuddle. He is moderate energy level, so as long as he gets 1-2 walks a day and an occasional play session he is completely content.
He is good with other large dogs and great with kids. No known issues with small dogs but he’s had limited exposure. I do not recommend him in a home with any other small animals.
His biggest struggle is that he has some separation anxiety, which he is prescribed trazadone for. He’ll throw a little temper tantrum in the crate when we leave, but then he passes out and is fine and can be left for hours at a time. But because of the occasional noise he’s probably not good for someone in an apartment where neighbors might complain or be bothered.
King’s adoption fee is $150 to a screened and approved home only. You must be able to meet him in person in Orange County CA to be considered for adoption.
