Hi my name is Carrie Whitney Butts and I was contacted by a friend a few months back who was contacted by a woman who had found a deaf dog. The dog had been abused and dumped in a ditch. He was living in a ditch so the lady took him in and she found out the deaf dog tested positive for heartworms. The lady made sure the deaf dog would live so made sure he received the proper Heartworm treatement. He was treated and healthy by the time I contacted the lady to make arrangements for me to travel up north of Texas to pick up and rescue the deaf dog.
I picked the deaf dog up and drove him home to our house. When we first introduced the deaf puppy we now call Keeper to his new home, he would not walk around or go up/down the stairs. I could tell he had never ever been inside a house before because he was so afraid to even move about. A month has passed since that fateful day we brought our beautiful deaf dog Keeper home. Keeper is starting to settle into his new environment and he is also starting to learn his sign commands and he has truly blossomed. He’s a very happy and social dog now. We love him so much. He gets along great with our other dogs and he is a little on the spoiled side because we also let him sleep with us in our bed. We will spend the rest of his life spoiling him and loving him.
