Thank you to all of our supporters who donated to Deaf Dogs Rock in the month of June 2023 to keep our mission going! Our Deaf Dogs Rock community has sponsored 16 deaf dogs/pups into rescue this June. What a great accomplishment in a struggling economy.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for continuing to support our mission to save one deaf dog at a time. We also want to give a huge shout out and THANK YOU to every single person who continues to support Deaf Dogs Rock in the first half of 2023 so we can continue to sponsor deaf dogs and puppies into rescue.

It takes a tribe of animal lovers to support Deaf Dogs Rock to continue to carry out our mission. Deaf Dogs Rock spent between $3000 and $5000.00  each month on Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorships!   If you would like to help sponsor a deaf dog out of a kill shelter into the safe arms of rescue, please click here to Donate.

Every single day on our Deaf Dogs Rock FB page you will see Rescue posts which we put up for shelters across the country trying to get deaf dogs out of over crowed shelters before their time is up and they are euthanized. Sometimes a deaf dog who is surrendered only has a day or two for the opportunity to be pulled by a reputable foster based rescue so that is why you will see our organizations offer $200-$300 on almost every rescue plea post we put up to encourage rescues to help a deaf dog in need. Without the financial offer of sponsorships these deaf dogs would surely die within a few days.

The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship program is to set up each deaf dog or puppy for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they go into a experienced deaf dog foster homes who are committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care. This way, each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf pup for awhile, work with the deaf dog, and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure the organization makes the very best match for each deaf dog with the right home once the adoption screening process starts.

Deaf Dogs Rock works with shelters, rescues, private individuals, and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship program and into rescue. By doing so, each deaf pup gets the individual training, vetting, socialization, and TLC to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and our number one priority will always be to help deaf dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.

When our rescue partners screen potential new homes for a deaf dog/puppy, each rescue has a specific set of guidelines to follow when considering a new home for example; like checking all references, talking to the applicant’s veterinarian, and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program is so important to get the deaf dog out of the shelter and help our partners set up each deaf pup for a successful happy life in their new home by helping each rescue with vetting expenses so each puppy ends up in a rescue that specifically advocates for them. Our Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship program financially sponsors deaf dogs/puppies so each pup can be vaccinated and spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescue partners and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf pup is spay/neutered be before being placed in a new home (unless they are Great Danes or Dalmatians).

Our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored 16 deaf dogs/pups in June, 2023 which is a huge accomplishment in a recession. So far in this year our DDR community has sponsored 108 deaf pups into rescue in the first half of 2023. So far since the beginning of our Rocker Puppy Program several years ago, Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored 1439 deaf dogs into rescue (as of 6/30/23).

June 2023 Sponsorship Recaps are below:

Cricket – Green Dogs Unleashed – VA

When a person near Little Rock Arkansas reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock for help with a deaf Doodle puppy we reached out to our friends at Green Dogs Unleashed here in Virginia to see if they would have room for deaf Doodle puppy Cricket and they did. Thanks to all the wonderful volunteer drivers with the Highway Heroes Rescue Transport Team for getting Cricket safely from Arkansas to Virginia. Thank you also to Keri who jumped in to drive my leg of the transport when I had a very sick senior dog at home that morning. Cricket will be sponsored into rescue through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog Sponsorship program to help GDU with Cricket’s upcoming vetting expenses.

Stray Senior – VA – Franklin County Humane Society

When Chris my husband was driving through Franklin County VA one Sunday he discovered a very tired senior dog on the side of the road. The little dog was very close to heat stroking. She was out in the middle of no where where there were no homes around. She was very sweet so he brought her to our Deaf Dogs Rock headquarters. Well wouldn’t you know it she was completely deaf. It is a miracle she wasn’t struck and killed by a car. We had  her for a couple of days and then we sponsored her into the Franklin County Humane Society and Planned Pethood Adoption Center.  They named her Birdie. She was soon adopted a few weeks later after being at the Humane Society for several weeks. We are so thankful that the Humane Society helped her and that someone saw how special she is.

We are so happy Margaret’s Saving Grace Bully Rescue has rescued Gypsy. The rescue writes: “Sweet deaf dog Gypsy is now safe in our rescue.
Shy has had her first bath with us. Nothing about this is pleasant for her, or for us. Her skin is so angry and her joints are so inflamed. Each touch is painful to her and even the water touching her is uncomfortable. You can tell by how she will pull back. Gypsy is working so much infection out of her tiny body.
I adore this girl, so much. From her pale eyes to her naked tail. She is total perfection. She absolutely cannot hear a single thing but she gives light tail wags when she sees us. SHE LOVES HER FOOD!”

Gypsy will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue Sponsorship Fund to help Margaret’s Saving Grace Bully Rescue with some of her vetting expenses.

Dainty – Code Red Animal Project (CRAP Rescue)

WE are beyond excited, grateful and relieved that Dainty is still alive. We thought when she tested positive for Distemper that was going to be the nail in her coffin but we heard from Wendy with Animal Services of Bastrop County TX and she let us know that Dainty made it to Code Red Animal Project and Jyl Ristau with Code Red pulled Dainty in to rescue the weekend of June 17, 23.
