Thank you to all of our supporters who donated to Deaf Dogs Rock in the month of June to keep our mission going! Our Deaf Dogs Rock community has sponsored 18 deaf dogs into rescue in June 2022. What a great accomplishment.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for continuing to support our mission to save one deaf dog at a time. We also want to give a huge shout out and THANK YOU to every single person and company who donated to this year in 2022,  so we can continue to sponsor deaf dogs and puppies into rescue.

It takes a tribe of animal lovers to support Deaf Dogs Rock to continue to carry out our mission. Deaf Dogs Rock spent between $4500 and $7000.00 + each month on Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorships!   If you would like to help sponsor a deaf dog out of a kill shelter into the safe arms of rescue, please click here to Donate.

The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsorship program is to set up each deaf puppy/deaf dog for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they go into a experienced deaf dog foster homes who are committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care. This way, each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf pup for awhile, work with the deaf dog, and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure the organization makes the very best match for each deaf dog with the right home once the adoption screening process starts.

Deaf Dogs Rock works with shelters, rescues, private individuals, and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our Rocker Puppy sponsorship program and into rescue. By doing so, each deaf pup gets the individual training, vetting, socialization, and TLC to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and our number one priority will always be to help deaf dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.

When our rescue partners screen potential new homes for a deaf dog/puppy, each rescue has a specific set of guidelines to follow when considering a new home for example like checking all references, talking to the applicant’s veterinarian, and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program is so important to set up each deaf pup for a successful happy life in their new home by helping each rescue with vetting expenses so each puppy ends up in a rescue that specifically advocates for them. Our Rocker Puppy sponsorship program financially sponsors deaf dogs/puppies so each pup can be vaccinated and spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescue partners and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf pup is spay/neutered before being placed in a new home. If you would like to donate to our Rocker Puppy sponsorship program, please click here.

Our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored 18 deaf dogs/pups in June 2022 which is a huge accomplishment in a struggling economy. So far in the first 24 weeks of 2022, our DDR community has sponsored 132 deaf pups into rescue.

Thanks to the financial support of our loyal Deaf Dogs Rock community, D.D.R. can continue to help deaf dogs in need. So far since our start of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program, our community has sponsored 1228 deaf dogs and pups into rescue (as of 6/30/22).

Below are the recaps of each deaf puppy we sponsored into a partner rescue.

Barius – Green Dogs Unleashed – Virginia

Sweet deaf Barius the little heeler puppy made it safely to Green Dogs Unleashed here in Virginia. Thanks to our friend Kim  Branham and her family for fostering this little spit fire. Kim has been fostering for GDU for many ears and has several deaf heeler dogs of her own which is a perfect place for Barius to learn the ropes. Barius will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Sponsorship fund to help with his upcoming vetting expenses to get him ready for adoption in the near future.

Sunshine – Happy Tails Rescue OK

This sweet deaf/blind girl is just a young pup at a Oklahoma City Shelter which at the time was overflowing with dogs. She needed out ASAP before her time was up. Our friends at Happy Tails Rescue in Edmond OK found a long term foster for her, tagged her the same day and picked her up to keep her safe. She is not officially with Happy Tails Rescue OK. Here was her update when she was picked up from the shelter (below).

Her name is Sunshine which suits her perfectly because she is a sweet ray of sunshine. She will be sponsored into rescue through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Sponsorship program to help Happy Tails with Sunshine’s upcoming vetting expenses. Thanks to Moria Turner and her entire team for stepping up and saving Sunshine and thanks to our DDR supporters who continue to support our mission to help one deaf and deaf/blind dog at a time. You all rock!

Simone – Fresh Start Animal Rescue League

Deaf Dogs Rock put out a rescue plea with an offer of rescue sponsorship to a reputable foster based 501c3 rescue on 6/6/22 in hopes a rescue would step up for this deaf girl in a Weslaco shelter. We are so thankful to hear from Fresh Start Animal Rescue League who pulled Simone into rescue on 6/9/22! Simone will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsorship program to help the rescue with her vetting. Simone is now in foster care where she can relax and be evaluated and vetted before she is available for adoption.

A big shout out and Thank you to Fresh Start Animal Rescue League for pulling Simone and getting her safely into the safe harbor of a foster home and rescue.

Thanks to Yankee Bernice’s Rainbow Bridge Legacy (and PB Abshier) for helping to make this sponsorship possible.

A nice lady from the Dallas/FW area named Michelle who had rescued a deaf/blind puppy named Bruno from a traveling nurse who could no longer care for the puppy, she reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock for help. We contacted our partner rescue here in Virginia Green Dogs Unleashed to see if they had a spot for Bruno in their foster program and they did. Bruno is a six month old deaf/vision impaired puppy who needed and experienced rescue to teach him new things and also an organization who could carefully screen potential new adopters and also have Bruno continue in their GDU training program. Bruno was flown Texas to VA by Pilots and Paws. Bruno is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsorship program so we can help with his vetting.

Pippa – East Coast Boxer Rescue

Sweet deaf/vision impaired Great Dan puppy Pippa was saved from an Amish Puppy Mill in Ohio from the folks at East Coast Boxer Rescue. Pippa is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy rescue sponsorship program to help with her vetting expenses. Thanks ECBR for saving Pippa!

JoJo – iRescue (Pending) – Texas

When we received a message that the family of 7 month old JoJo was going to travel that day and their dog had to be “rehomed” by that day, to say I was really angry is an understatement. I reached out to Karla at iRescue in Texas and God Bless her she did the impossible. She got JoJo before JoJo ended up being dumped at an animal shelter that day. We are so thankful for her swift action on this one! JoJo will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship program to help with her spaying and vetting to get her ready to be adopted soon.

She drove Diamond all the way from San Francisco to Olympia WA. Sweet Diamond will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue program so we can help DC Dogos and Diamond with upcoming vetting bills.

Mud is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship fund to help the rescue with some of his vetting expenses to get him healthy and ready for adoption. A big shout out to Pink Heart Rescue for helping Mud and to our awesome Deaf Dogs Rock supporters who continue to financially support D.D.R. so we can continue to offer rescue sponsorships for deaf dogs and puppies in need.

Jada and Jasmine aka Jazz –  Green Dogs Unleashed – Troy VA

Sweet deaf border collie/heeler mix pups Jada and Jasmine came into Green Dogs Unleashed when their owner died and left 13 pups behind. Several rescues stepped up to help. These two were absolutely terrified when they got to GDU and they are now settling into their new foster environment and decompressing. Thanks to people like Erika and Wanda with GDU for helping these two make it to rescue. Both Jada and Jazz will be recipients of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program to help with the cost of vetting both pups to get them ready for adoption in the future.

Archie – Love is Fur Ever Dog Rescue – Florida

When Deaf Dogs Rock put out a rescue plea offering a $300 sponsorship for deaf dog Archie, we knew it might be along shot because Archie had some physical issues that needed vetting pretty fast. We are so happy to report that Love Is Fur Ever Dog Rescue in FL has pulled Archie and will be getting him to the vet soon. Archie will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program with $300 going towards his vetting to get his eye checked out and to get his vetting started. Love is Fur Ever Dog Rescue has raised $345 for Archie (as of 6/28/22) so they will now be able to get him to the vet.

Merle Haggard – Pink Heart Rescue IN

Sweet Merle Haggard made his way from Maryland to Ohio this past weekend. He is now in his new foster home and was pulled by our friends at Pink Heart Rescue. He is 100% rockin Catahoula/hound dog so the name Merle Haggard is perfect for him. He will be learning all kinds of cool stuff in his new foster home and he will be a recipient of the Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship to help Pink Heart with some of his vetting expenses.

Thank you to every single person who has donated over the last few months. Donations are coming in pretty slow now that the economy is not so good so we sure appreciate any support we can get from our community so we can continue to help deaf dogs and puppies out of kill shelters into the safe arms of rescue. We so appreciate each and every one of you.

Thanks so much, Christina Lee – Deaf Dogs Rock
