Meet adoptable deaf dog Jedi who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who is familiar with separation anxiety and can help Jedi settle in nicely in his new home.
From his advocate; Jedi was in a shelter, intact and heartworm positive and he probably had been an outside dog all of his life. He had bad ear infections when he came in so he was treated for his ear infections. The shelter did not realize he was deaf but maybe the ear infection medications took his hearing. We got him neutered and out of the shelter and then treated his heartworm. He has been in two foster homes.
Jedi got along with dogs in both homes but has some tiffs over toys so he needs a more structured environment where there are not toys laying around everywhere (or be an only dog). Aside from that , he was fine. Jedi will not tolerate a crate because he feels trapped in the crate and he has separation anxiety. We have also learned he is deaf. He will need a home that understands deaf dogs and can work with them and teach them. He most likely was not born deaf but bad ear infections untreated can lead to this (or the ear medication can also lead to deafness). If Jedi’s deafness is recent he will need a person to help him navigate his new reality with lots love and guidance.
He just wants to be near his person and be loved. We believe he is 6-7 years old, 50 lbs.
