2017 is going to be our Deaf Dogs Rock community’s biggest impact in deaf dog rescue world. For January we broke our record  for sponsoring 18 deaf pups into rescue with a lot of our partner rescues stepping up to pull deaf dogs/puppies because of the financial support we give them thorough our Rocker Puppy Program. Each deaf dog/puppy who is financially sponsored thorough our Rocker Puppy program gets the opportunity  to go into an experienced deaf dog foster home and start their beginning ASL sign training, their potty training, socialization, and enjoy the comfort of a loving foster home. Fostering deaf puppies through experienced foster families gives each deafie time to decompress and relax while potential adopters go through a thorough adoption screening process. Fostering also gives the rescue an opportunity to get to know each dog and evaluate what they need as far as training to help each rescue pup start to build a strong training foundation.

The amazing special needs rescues we work with also take into account the personality and energy level of the deaf rocker puppy in foster care. Allowing the deaf dog to adjust to their new foster home environment helps the adoption coordinators make a good match when it comes to placing the pup into a loving home where the dog will thrive and the family will continue training. It’s kind of like deaf dog “matchmaking” but in a human/dog sense.

Below are just a few of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy sponsored pups in the month of January 2017. In January Deaf Dogs Rock sponsored 18 deaf dogs into rescue or helped with medical sponsorships for deaf dogs in need. If you would like us to continue to sponsor deaf dogs into partner rescues please click here to donate to sponsor a Rocker Puppy.

DDR has been networking Jax for sometime now and we were so happy to see iRescue in Texas pulled Jax into rescue. Check him out taking his freedom ride! Deaf Dogs Rock was so happy we got him sponsored into a partner rescue in Texas that does amazing work with special needs dogs. Thanks Karla for getting Jax to safety.

Polar

A thank you to Chows Plus Rescue for pulling senior deaf Chow Polar from the shelter. He is now in foster care!

Luna

Thanks to Green Dogs Unleashed for doing an emergency rescue and foster for a border collie pup Luna in NC.

When our friends at iRescue contacting us saying they had a nice lady who’s deaf/blind aussie has passed away (senior dog) and she really wanted to adopt another deaf/blind aussie I told Karla I would keep my eyes out of one. Within 24 hours two young ladies contacted Deaf Dogs Rock needing help to find the perfect home for their young deaf/blind dog Keller. After many weeks of going back and fourth on January 15, Keller arrived at iRescue in Texas. He will be staying with a foster for a few days while he is recovering from his neuter surgery and then he will go on to meet his new mom. Thanks to Karla, Sarah and Heidi for working together to get Keller to a new loving home.

Thanks again to iRescue for pulling this 8 week old deaf puppy out of Garland TX AC. (photo above: the little boy hanging out with deaf/blind dog Emmit in foster care)

Thanks to the Deaf Dogs of Oregon for pulling Panda and Lani to safety. It’s because of awesome organizations like Deaf Dogs of Oregon we can help deaf dogs on the West coast make it out of kill shelters and also thanks to the Deaf Dog Rescue of America for making room for Panda and Lani until foster homes open up.

Wilbur

Thanks to Green Dogs Unleashed for helping sweet deaf puppy Wilbur.

Deffy – Medical sponsorship

2.5 year old deaf dog Deffy’s owner passed away so he is staying with family members. He very much needed to be neutered to be listed available for adoption but his guardian’s extended family did not have the funds for the surgery so Deaf Dogs Rock paid the $182.00 to get him up to date on everything and pay for his neuter surgery. He is currently available for adoption. You can view his adoption listing by clicking here.
