Our Deaf Dogs Rock Community sponsored 14 deaf dogs and puppies into special needs rescue in the first month of 2025! Thank you to every single person who donated to Deaf Dogs Rock in January 2025 so we can continue on our mission of helping deaf pups into rescue.

It takes a tribe of animal lovers to support Deaf Dogs Rock to continue to carry out our mission of helping one deaf dog at a time. Deaf Dogs Rock spends between $2500 and $4000.00 each month on Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorships!   If you would like to help sponsor a deaf dog out of a kill shelter into the safe arms of rescue, please click here to Donate. If you would like to donate in honor of a person, your deaf dog or in memory of one of your pets, you can send us a photo for our Honor/Memory Wall and donate here.

Every single day on our Deaf Dogs Rock FB page you will see Rescue posts on our Deaf Dogs Rock FB page which we put up for shelters across the country trying to get deaf dogs out of over crowded shelters before their time is up and they are euthanized. Sometimes a deaf dog who is surrendered only has a day or two for the opportunity to be pulled by a reputable foster based rescue so that is why you will see our organizations offer $250-$300 on almost every rescue plea we post up on our Deaf Dogs Rock FB page so we can encourage rescues to help a deaf dog in need. Without the financial sponsorship offers to help with each dog’s vetting expenses, may of the deaf shelter dogs would parish and surely die within a few days.

The core mission of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program is to set up each deaf dog or puppy for success by sending them into a experienced special needs rescue where they can go into a experienced deaf dog foster homes. The foster homes are committed to training and socializing each deaf dog that comes into their care before they are available for adoption. This way, each foster advocate gets the opportunity to live with the deaf pup for awhile, work with the deaf dog, and accurately evaluate each deaf dog/puppy to make sure the organization makes the very best match for each deaf dog when it comes to finding the right home for that particular deaf dog.

Deaf Dogs Rock works directly with shelters, rescues, sanctuaries, private individuals, and breeders to help get each deaf puppy into our Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program and into rescue. By doing so, each deaf pup gets the individual training, vetting, socialization, and TLC to grow up to become a cherished member of society. Deaf Dogs Rock is a judgement free zone and our number one priority will always be to help deaf dogs and puppies get a fresh start and a chance at a great life.

When our rescue partners screen potential new homes for a deaf dog/puppy, each rescue has a specific set of guidelines to follow when considering a new home for example; like checking all references, talking to the applicant’s veterinarian, and performing a thorough home visit to make sure each home is a safe place for a deaf or deaf/blind dog. This is why our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program is so important to get the deaf dog out of the shelter (or from an individual) and help our partner rescues set up each deaf pup for a successful happy life in their new home. We do this by helping each rescue with vetting expenses so each puppy ends up in a rescue that specifically advocates for them and fully vets each special needs pup. Our Rocker Dog/Puppy Rescue sponsorship program financially sponsors deaf dogs/puppies so each pup can be vaccinated and spay/neutered before they are adopted to a new family. We only work with rescue partners and advocacy organizations who are committed in making sure each deaf pup is spay/neutered before being placed in a new home (unless they are Great Danes or Dalmatians which need to done after 12 months of age).

Our amazing Deaf Dogs Rock community sponsored another 14 deaf dogs/pups into rescue in January 2025 which is a huge accomplishment in a recession. In 2024 Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored 149 deaf pups into the safe arms of rescue and we are kicking off 2025 starting with 14 deaf pups. .  So far since the beginning of our Rocker Dog/Puppy Program several years ago, Deaf Dogs Rock has sponsored 1691 deaf dogs into rescue (as of 1/31/24).

Our January Sponsorship Recaps are below:

Luke (aka Samson)  – Green Dogs Unleashed Rescue – Troy VA

We received this screen shot of Samson from a concerned citizen and we made the decision to try to find a rescue who could take him.

When our Deaf Dogs Rock team spotted deaf Border Collie puppy Samson now named Luke at the Hilton Head Human in SC, we immediately contacted Erika Proctor with Green Dogs Unleashed and offered a rescue sponsorship for this beautiful 8 month old Border Collie Shepherd mix. Erika arranged for Luke to make his way to Green Dogs Unleashed here in Virginia from South Carolina. Unfortunately sweet Luke who arrived in December had a Kennel cough and had to take it easy before he could have the rest of his vetting completed. It turns out he is just a wonderful boy and GDU hopes to have him adopted to a family in their local area and continue with Therapy Dog Training because  he has such a wonderful personality. Luke is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy/Dog Rescue sponsorship program to help GDU with his neuter and vetting expenses.

5 week old deaf puppy Silas from OK to Speak Rescue and Sanctuary – MO

We are happy to report our friends at Speak Rescue and Sanctuary swooped in to get this FIVE week old Double Merle deaf Aussie puppy Silas out of an Oklahoma shelter before he came in contact with a virus at the shelter. Sweet Silas is now safe with the rescue and he will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy-Dog Rescue Sponsorship program where funds will be sent into his rescue at Speak Rescue and Sanctuary to help the rescue with Silas’ upcoming vetting expenses.

Motown deaf Aussiedoodle pups  Smokey, Gladys, Marvin and Gordy – Speak Rescue and Sanctuary MO

Our friends at Speak Rescue and Sanctuary pulled for deaf Double Merle Aussiedoodle pups. A concerned neighbor saw these little ones living outside in the freezing cold and she got the back yard breeder to sign them over to a rescue. They are now safely with Speak Rescue and Sanctuary near St. Louis MO. All four puppies will be recipients of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue Sponsorship program to help Speak with their puppy vetting expenses to get them ready for adoption in the very near future.

Dewey – Chelsea’s Hope Boxer Rescue – Nitro’s Fund

Sweet deaf boxer Dewey had been living outside for over a year. His owner finally turned him loose where he was living on the streets. A neighbor stepped forward and saved Dewey and contacted Chelsea’s Hope Boxer rescue to see if they could rescue Dewey. Thanks to our friends at Chelsea’s Hope Boxer Rescue for helping sweet deaf boxer Dewey. Dewey will be a recipient of our Nitro’s Fund which will help the rescue with some of Dewey’s vetting expenses. We want to thank Thomas and Karen P from Michigan who donated to Nitro’s Fund so we can help deaf boxers like Dewey.

When Kaci reached out to Deaf Dogs Rock saying she had two seven month old deaf Boxer puppies, we knew we had to help. We reached out to our friends at Chelsea’s Hope Boxer Rescue to see if they could make room in their program for Zee and Goober. They made arrangements with Kaci to have both deaf puppies spayed/neutered and worked on transport to Chelsea’s Hope. Both puppies will be sponsored into rescue by Nitro’s Fund which is set up specifically to sponsor deaf boxers into the safe arms of rescue (like our sweet deaf boxer Nitro and Bud). We want to thank Thomas and Karen P for their support to Nitro’s Fund. Because of their kind consideration, generosity and support, both Zee and Goober’s vetting expenses will be sponsored by Nitro’s Fund to help the rescue with their spay/neuter surgery expenses.

Clara – Pink Heart Rescue – Indiana

Sweet deaf bully mix Clara was the only puppy who made it out of the shelter alive. All of her littermates died at the shelter and Pink Heart Rescue in Indiana pulled her just in time. She is now thriving in her new foster home. Clara will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy-Dog Rescue Sponsorship program to help Pink Heart with some of Clara’s vetting expenses.

Quinn – Amazing Aussies Lethal White Rescue of Arizona

Sweet deaf and vision impaired Quinn made it safely into rescue with Amazing Aussies Lethal White Rescue of Arizona. He is now safe. He is a big sweet Australian Shepherd! Quinn will be a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Rescue sponsorship program to help Amazing Aussies with his vetting. Thanks to our friends Vern and Patricia Kerst for donating to Deaf Dogs Rock to help sweet Quinn!

Flynn – Speak Rescue and Sanctuary

Flynn is a deaf and blind (or mostly blind) puppy, with one teeny bit of eyeball in one eye and nothing in the other. He came from a breeder in Alabama, who claimed she got him from another breeder. A volunteer from Speak Rescue and Sanctuary picked him up, along with an additional dog. Flynn was filthy, soaking wet, and covered in poop when he arrived, so we’ve already started getting him cleaned up and comfortable. Flynn is a recipient of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy/Dog Rescue sponsorship fund to help the Speak Team with some of his vetting expenses.

Fearie and Thane from OK – Green Dogs Unleashed – Virginia

Above: Freedom Ride for Fearie and Thane from Oklahoma to Virginia

Our friends at Green Dogs Unleashed Rescue in Troy Virginia rescued these two deaf pups Fearie and Thane from Oklahoma. They were both BAER tested and both are deaf. The little red and white puppy also has some neurological issues (has a head tilt and walks to the side). Both deaf pups Fearie and Thane will be recipients of our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy/Dog Rescue Sponsorship program to help GDU with their vetting expenses to try to get them ready for loving forever families in the near future.
