Meet our Deaf Dogs Rock Star of The Day, adoptable deaf 4.5 year old Catahoula Leopard Dog Jackson who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him, become his new best friend and always keep him safe.

From his current caregiver: I first met Jackson when my sister went to adopt a puppy 4 years ago. I told her she should choose him because he was so beautiful. The people who were selling the dogs said he was going to “be put down because he was deaf.” My response, “I’ll take him.” That was the best decision I’ve ever made for my mental health and for my heart, and the worst decision for my physical health. I’m extremely allergic to him. The allergies trigger my sinuses which trigger my asthma and causes me to be stuck in a horrible cycle which has ended in 2 sinus surgeries and the doctor saying there’s nothing more they can do for me. This is the ONLY reason we as a family have agreed to rehome him. From day 1 he has been the sweetest, smartest, most perfect dog we’’ve ever known. He has never chewed anything but his toys, only barks in his dreams, uses a doggy door with no issues, gets along with other pets to include cats, is so gentle with our grandson, and looks after me when I’m sick.

Jackson knows basic commands and reads facial expressions well. He will never protect your house because he’s every one’s best friend! His excitement when we arrive home every day is so heartwarming. He uses a large dog bed and never gets on the furniture. He prefers to sleep next to your bed but is fine sleeping in the living room. He will lick you until you’re fully bathed if you let him. He has developed skin allergies and we haven’t figured out what he’s allergic to. We’ve take him to the vet and they told us to give him Benadryl which I do but it doesn’t seem to help. It seems to itch occasionally but other than that it doesn’t seem to bother him too much. It bothers me a lot because the hair loss is triggering my health issues. My heart hurts deeply to have to part with him and I need to know he will go to some one who will adore him as much as we do.

Pet sitters always love him and welcome him back. He’s the one their kids tend to favor. He would sleep in a kennel as he does at the pet sitters, we just haven’t ever had to kennel him because he’s so well behaved. The one thing he will chew if he misses you is paper with your scent on it. Silly boy! He likes to be touching you so he’ll stand by you when you’re seated and wants you to use your foot to rub him or gently kick him on his chest which we call his turkey breast. Jackson is worthy of the best life ever and you will gain a best friend for life!

Jackson’s adoption fee is $100 and you must live within a driving distance of Manvel Texas to be considered for adoption of Jackson. If you are interested in meeting him, please email Tiffany at: tvquini79@yahoo.com
