Meet adoptable deaf Australian Cattle Dog (red heeler) Indy who is a beautiful 7 month old deaf puppy looking for a loving forever home.
From her caregiver: Meet Indigo “Indy”. She is an approximately 7 month old Red Heeler, 33lb. She’s got beautiful coloring throughout her body but no patches like a lot of heelers. UTD on shots, spayed, and has been on flea tick and heart worm prevention for the last 3 months. Indy is great with other dogs and kids. She’s met cats a couple times and did fine with an overnight stay with them (she was more scared of them than they were of her). She loves to give kisses and is very social with dogs and people.
Indy is deaf and has learned a number of signs. She picked them up all in the last couple months very quickly. I can provide a video of the signs she knows.
Indy does also have a hip malformation, this doesn’t hurt her or hinder her activity although she is low energy for a heeler. She prefers to stay near her owners. Her hip may require chiropractic assistance in the future depending on weight gain and aging.
Indy was found on the side of the freeway with a litter of pups. The person that found them rehomed the rest but really wanted to keep her. He lived in the barracks and couldn’t have her until he got an apartment. I agreed to foster her until he found housing, however things changed and the young man that wanted her now informs me that he will not be taking her back. She’s the sweetest girl and deserves to have a good loving home. I hope I can help her find one.
Indy’s adoption fee is $175 to a screened and approved family. You also must live within a couple hours drive of Seguin Texas to be considered. If you have questions or are interested in adopting Indy, please email Renee at
