Meet adoptable deaf senior bully mix Icy who is currently looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish her and always keep her safe. Icy would enjoy a loving home where she is the only pet.

From her shelter advocate: Icy is beautiful mixed-breed senior lady, estimated to be about 8-9 years old. She was found as a stray in January 2023 and has been enjoying life in foster care since.

Icy is incredibly friendly and loves every person she meets out on walks or at home.
Icy is deaf or mostly deaf, but she is great about checking in with her person and makes sure to always know where you are so she knows what is going on.
Icy is house trained and can be home alone up to 6 hours.
Icy has some mild separation anxiety, in the form of barking, but it is managed through a regular schedule, enrichment, and giving her time to get comfortable. She would love a home with someone who is retired or works from home, but would also be okay in a home where someone works out of the home up to 6 hours a day.

Icy is great on walks, easy to leash, and easy to redirect (with treats) when there are distractions. She would be happy in a home with a yard or going on regular walks.
Icy knows how to do “sit” and “paw,” even though she can’t hear you.
Icy loves cuddling, napping, playing, and snacking. She just loves to be around her people.

Icy should be the only pet in a home.
Icy should also be in a home with kids about 5 and older. She can sometimes get nervous with very small children because they are too unpredictable and she can’t hear to know they are coming. But she loves all the kids she has met out on her walks.

Icy has regular ear infections (easily managed with regular cleanings and medication as necessary), some dental disease, and some allergies. Icy would also prefer a home with not too many stairs because she can be a little stiff in the morning or after a long nap.

Icy is looking for someone who can provide her a safe and secure forever home for the rest of her life. She hopes that person is you!
