Huckleberry is and adoptable deaf a 2-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix who is looking for a loving forever home. He is 47 pounds of pure love and joy. He is available for adoption at Foothills Animal Shelter in Golden, Colorado.

 

 

From his shelter advocate: This energetic, social fellow is eager to meet new people and enjoys staying busy. He has been enthusiastically participating in training and benefiting from plenty of opportunities for enrichment. He especially enjoys activities that give him an appropriate outlet for his energy, including walks, play with other dogs, food puzzles, scent games, and other engaging activities.

Huckleberry is deaf, so he communicates and learns through visual and tactile cues rather than sound. His future family will need to be comfortable learning new ways to communicate with him and committed to keeping him safely contained or leashed when outdoors.

Huckleberry also has a strong interest in chasing shadows and light. His family can help him manage this tendency by minimizing shadows and light patterns in the home and cheerfully redirecting him toward other activities when needed. Providing plenty of appropriate physical and mental enrichment will be an important part of helping him thrive.

Huckleberry’s adoption fee is $250.00
