Are you searching for a dog with a lot of heart? Well, we have your girl! Meet Heart, our newest foster at S.A.F.E. Animal Haven!

Heart is a happy girl who spends her days zooming around the yard or lounging on the couch. She can’t hear the birds in the trees, doorbells or the vacuum because she is deaf but that does not bother her sweet disposition and her ability to be your best friend!

She is 3 years young with impressive athletic skills! She loves tug of war, fetching bouncy balls, and puzzles/nose work games (ie treats hidden in puzzle games, snuffle mats or tossing treats in tall grass to seek). She used to run 5k with a previous family and she will do anything for a treat. If you are searching for a running partner, hiking enthusiast, sports prospect or someone who just wants to have fun chasing the toys in the backyard then Heart is the perfect match.

She knows all of her basic commands in sign language, is crate trained, is playful, and loves giving kisses. She loves gentle rubs/scratches behind her jaw and ears and full face pets on the side of her head. She loves car rides but doesn’t like the windows down. She knows how to settle down for the evening by your side to watch a movie and share your popcorn. She is also vibration collar trained for recalls.

She has played and interacted with big and small dogs and does ok in a controlled environment. She has a rough and tumble play style and would do best as an only child or with a dog that is submissive. She will require a home with a fenced yard!

She has been working with a trainer who specializes in deaf dogs and her trainer will continue to support/train/consult with Heart’s foster or foster to adopt or forever family!
