Meet adoptable deaf 9 month old Happy who is looking for a loving family/person who will cherish her, become her new best friend and always keep her safe. Deaf Dogs Rock has offered a medical sponsorship so that Happy will have her eye fixed on 10/31/25.
From her rescue advocate: Chicago, IL – Happy, deaf, smiley pup needs a home!
Happy is a 9-month old, 33lb pocket pittie/boxer mix. She was found in Eastern Kentucky covered in fleas and ticks, with most of her hair missing from an extreme case of mange. Despite her circumstances Happy is full of joy; she greats her foster family with a big smile, charming underbite and dancing feet each and every day.
Happy adores other dogs and people. Since she’s deaf, her foster family wakes her gently using scents—American cheese is her favorite alarm clock! Happy is a smart girl who has already learned “sit,” “lay”, “come,” and “no.” Happy sleeps peacefully through the night in her crate and settles quickly during the day.
On leash, Happy surprises everyone—she’s the slowest walker you’ll ever meet. At just 9 months old, she shuffles along like a sweet senior pup with arthritis. She never pulls, though sometimes she decides she’s just not moving. What she does love, though, is soaking up the sunshine and spending hours relaxing outdoors.
She’s also a total comedian. From her hilarious piggy grunts and owl-like screeches to her antics with vegetables—watching her toss broccoli and green beans around the room is guaranteed entertainment—Happy will keep you smiling every day.
Happy is ready to find her forever family: one that will appreciate her quirks, celebrate her progress, and give her the love and patience every puppy deserves.
