Meet adoptable deaf dog Groot who is looking for a loving forever home where he will be the only dog or another friendly tolerant dog to live with him. He needs someone who will love him and always keep him safe.

From his current caregiver: Groot is approximately 2 years old. I rescued him from a shelter a little over a year ago. He is deaf.

I have worked with him quite a bit, including starting to teach him ASL for commands. The issue is with my other two dogs. He should either be in a single dog home or in a home with a calmer, lower energy dog, which mine are not. My dogs do not understand his actions. He has a deep bark which he of course cannot hear and modulate. They do not understand it takes him longer to take a command as I have to make sure he sees me.

They react by growling, barking and lunging at him. He responds like wise but it is clear he is fearful. I have worked with several trainers. He is not the problem, it is the interaction among the other dogs. My husband is no longer comfortable with the situation.
