Gracie is a beautiful Pitt/Boxer Mix. She was born on 4/9/2017 & is almost 8 years old. She is 100% deaf and has been since birth. Gracie is spayed, microchipped, with no medical issues, and she is up to date on her shots. She is about 60lbs and she is a medium build/size. She is currently located in Rockford, MI. We are willing to travel for the purpose of her finding the perfect home. A rehoming fee applies, with the expectation of an at-home interview. Please read her entire profile below.

As our family continues to grow and we are welcoming a second child soon, we are faced with the difficult but inevitable decision of rehoming Gracie to live out the rest of her days. She was adopted at 11 weeks from an animal shelter in Kentucky and she has been loved beyond words all her life. There have been struggles throughout her upbringing, but they have been managed as she has always been a single dog in a single family home. This dynamic has changed immensely since we have welcomed our first child who is now one in-a-half years old and with another baby on the way. This burden and guilt we carry is heavy, but we have to seek out the best for her, and for our family as she enters her final years.

Gracie has been deaf from birth. She rarely barks and she is extremely loving, loyal, and has a very calm, low energy demeanor. Her deafness is her super power as she is not afraid of thunderstorms or fireworks. Her new person will also have the opportunity to rename her if you wish. She is also strong, a little skittish and she is in need of a family with older teenage children or no children at all but she does need to be the only pet in her new home.

Gracie is leash trained, kennel trained, house trained, and she is bell trained to let you know she needs to go outside to do her business.  She knows some hand signs (sit, come, can go in the direction you point). A fully fenced in backyard is ideal in her new home because her recall can be a challenge if you do not have eyes on her. She could be a good candidate for a family that lives in an apartment or condo, so long as she receives daily leashed walks.

Gracie is the ideal companion for a family that loves road trips, bike rides, the beach, and taking long walks. She craves attention, lap cuddles, loves to sleep under the blankets and loves to lay in the sun. She would thrive in a home with a nice window to look out of and a comfy couch to snuggle on. Gracie is not a high energy dog, but she can become whiny if she feels her attention/affection is not fully met to her standards.
