Meet adoptable 11 month old, deaf/blind,Bully mix Georgia who is looking for a very special person who will cherish her, make daily positive reinforcement touch training/enrichment a priority and always keep her safe.
From her caregiver: I adopted Georgia from Peggy Adams shelter in WPB on May 21st 2025 she was 13-15 weeks old. She is now 11 months old. She is healthy. They said she was beagle and Hound and would be about 25 pounds. She is 60 pounds and I sent for DNA and she is 65% American Pitt and 13% American Bull dog. She is so lovable and vulnerable due to being deaf and blind since birth. A breeder apparently dumped her. I am 69 years old and I have 2 other rescues one is 12 years old and 58 pounds and the other is 4 years old and is 62 pounds. Georgia plays with the 4 year old but the 12 year old can be a bit controlling. I lost my husband recently unexpectedly in his sleep, then lost my sister in October 2025. I am deep in grief and I am finding it hard to keep up. I have written to many deaf/blind rescues but I don’t hear back from any.
I am sure someone would do a better job with Georgia and nurture her they was she deserves. I taught her to sit and lay down watching Keller’s Cause videos on line. I have taken her to diversity K9 where she worked with Nicole on Jumping and leash training for 2 weeks which was very beneficial. I am looking to rehome Georgia preferable to someone with patience, Kindness, imagination, and Love. I cannot simply drop her at a shelter as some suggest. She is very playful, very strong, she loves her morning walks and her time spent playing with her canine buddy. I will have to be looking for work and all of this is very overwhelming. Please keep an eye and ear out for the home where Georgia belongs. I appreciate anything you can do. I called Peggy Adams and they simply said I could return her to the shelter- I cannot do that. She is too vulnerable. Please, Please help me. I can transport.
Georgia’s adoption fee is $300 to a screened and approved home only. You also must live within 300 miles of Boco Raton, Florida to be considered for adoption.
