Looking for a sweet family to fall in love with Gatsby, a deaf Bernese Mountain Dog puppy! Gatsby would thrive in a home with someone who will cherish him, make daily positive reinforcement training/socialization/enrichment a priority and a commitment to always keeping him safe.

Gatsby is up to date on his puppy vaccinations and dewormer, along with his first vet exam. His parents are beautiful AKC-registered Bernese Mountain dogs with genetic testing and Hip/Elbow registration. His parents are 85lbs and 110lbs, so we expect Gatsby to be between 85-95 lbs.

Gatsby was born without an ear on one side and a partially deformed ear on the other. We didn’t think he would live long as he couldn’t nurse, but we learned how to tube feed him and he started to put on weight.
Once he was old enough to eat on his own he began to thrive and has been growing ever since!

Because his deafness is due to a developmental / birth defect he seems to have difficulty swallowing and he has a perpetual runny/stuffy nose. He sneezes often to clear his nose. We feel the pollen has added to his sniffles and should get better once that subsides. For drinking he tilts his head upward after he laps up water to help in his swallowing.

He is a sweet boy since he was hand-raised and loves people! He is curious and likes to mouth things to experience it. We feel he mouths more as a sensory experience since he cannot hear well.

Other than the health conditions we have observed, he lives life to the fullest and is a very happy little guy!

His adoption fee is $300 to a screened and approved home only. You also must live within 2-3 hour drive of Golden Co to be considered for adoption and to meet him in person.

If you are interested in adopting Gatsby, please email Brayden so a blank adoption application can be sent to you to be filled out completely to be considered for adoption. Brayden’s email is:
